A mulching machine comprising a machine body that includes a tilling unit performing tilling, a ridge forming unit forming a ridge with the tilled soil, a mulch film laying unit drawing a mulch film from a film roll and laying it over the ridge, and ground wheels supporting the machine body. The tilling unit and the ridge forming unit are arranged in this order from the front in the traveling direction of the mulching machine, and the film roll is positioned such that its center of gravity does not overlap the ground wheels and is located forward of the ground wheels in the traveling direction.

Supporting structure for excavator

A double-split cage includes a strip-shaped metallic sheet curved into a semi-cylindrical shape and having several pockets for accommodating a single row of rollers arranged in the circumferential direction. The strip-shaped metallic sheet has two arch portions separately arranged in the axial direction and includes pillar portions arranged at several positions of both arch portions in the circumferential direction. Both arch portions have protrusions protruding from the pillar portions at both end portions in the circumferential direction, and a forward end portion of each protrusion is chamfered at a corner outside in the axial direction. Length of the chamfered portion in the circumferential direction is larger than the protruding length of each protrusion.

Double-split cage

A rocker arm is tilted by a cam so as to open and close a valve provided on a cylinder head. This arm comprises a pair of opposing wall portions which are made by folding a flat plate so that they oppose substantially in parallel and cylindrical expanding portions which are formed at tilting fulcrum shaft mounting portions located in a center of the opposing wall portions in the length direction thereof, the expanding portions being expanded in the direction of the tilting fulcrum shaft. The cylindrical expanding portions which are thicker than the opposing wall portions receive a load accompanied by the tilting motion so as to decrease bearing stress applied to the opposing wall portions.

Rocker arm

An rocker arm is tilted by a cam so as to open and close a valve provided on a cylinder head. This arm comprises a pair of opposing wall portions which are made by folding a flat plate so that they oppose substantially in parallel and cylindrical expanding portions which are formed at tilting fulcrum shaft mounting portions located in a center of the opposing wall portions in the length direction thereof, the expanding portions being expanded in the direction of the tilting fulcrum shaft. The cylindrical expanding portions which are thicker than the opposing wall portions receive a load accompanied by the tilting motion so as to decrease bearing stress applied to the opposing wall portions.

A method of manufacturing a rocker arm includes blanking a piece of plate to obtain a base material for forming a rocker arm body, the base material being substantially U-shaped in plan view and having two protrusions which are substantially in parallel with each other. The base material is bent until the two protrusions are confronted substantially in parallel with each other, to provide a pair of side walls having a coupling portion between the side walls. Next, the coupling portion is curved between the side walls to provide a valve engaging portion, and the free end portions of the side walls are fixedly secured to the side walls of a pivot engaging member which is a plat plate having a semi-spherical portion formed by drawing.

Method of manufacturing a rocker arm

The invention relates to a rocker arm including a roller, a pair of side walls for supporting the roller, a pivot engaging portion and a valve engaging portion, in which the configuration of the valve engaging portion, and the relative position of the roller, the pivot engaging portion, and the valve engaging portion are set with high accuracy. In the rocker arm, the roller, while being in contact with a cam, is rotatably provided between a pair of side walls forming a rocker arm body. The rocker arm body is of a two-piece structure including a first piece which includes: the pair of side walls adapted to support the roller; and a valve-engaging portion through which, as viewed longitudinally of the rocker arm body, first end portions of the side walls merge with each other; and a second piece which is a pivot engaging member fixedly secured to the remaining second end portions of the side walls.
