The present invention provides a method of extracting virus genes, which is excellent in quickness and convenience and can be automated, and this invention also provides an apparatus for such extraction of virus genes. A conductive hollow fiber membrane (module)is immersed in a virus suspensionand thus viral particles suspended in the virus suspensionare captured in the conductive hollow fiber membrane (module). The coating of the thus captured virus is lysed and the virus genes are released. Next, the virus genes are collected by subjecting the conductive hollow fiber membrane (module)to at least one of an electrical treatment and a physical treatment.

Method of extracting virus genes and extraction apparatus

This invention provides a method for recovering nucleic acids and a device for the same purpose, which method and device are capable of continuously recovering nucleic acids by enabling the recovery of nucleic acids in one simple operation. This nucleic acid recovering device comprises: a container to which a solution containing micro-organisms is supplied; electrodes which are made of a hollow fiber membrane coated with a conductive metal and which send electricity to the solution; a pulse oscillator which sends pulse waves to the electrodes; and a micropump which draws up the solution within the hollow fiber membrane coated with metal.
