According to one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate including a common electrode, an insulation film, and a pixel electrode, and a second substrate including a black matrix which includes a first light-shield portion, a second light-shield portion and a third light-shield portion, a first crossing portion at which the first light-shield portion and the second light-shield intersect, a second crossing portion at which the first light-shield portion and the third light-shield portion intersect, and a columnar spacer extending from a position overlapping the first crossing portion toward the first substrate.

According to one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate including an organic insulation film including a first contact hole penetrating to the switching element, an island-shaped relay electrode and a common electrode which are formed on the organic insulation film, an interlayer insulation film including a second contact hole at a position different from a position of the first contact hole, a pixel electrode which is formed on the interlayer insulation film and includes a slit which is opposed to the common electrode, and an alignment film covering the pixel electrode and the interlayer insulation film.

Liquid crystal display device and method of manufacturing the same

A liquid crystal display device, which is configured such that a liquid crystal layer is held between a pair of substrates, includes scanning lines extending in a row direction of matrix-arrayed pixels; and signal lines extending in a column direction of the pixels, wherein a pixel between a pair of ones of the signal lines, which neighbor in the row direction, includes, on an identical one of the pair of substrates, a first electrode which is connected to one of the pair of ones of the signal lines, and a second electrode which is opposed to the first electrode via an interlayer insulation film and is connected to the other of the pair of ones of the signal lines.

In one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate and a second substrate. The first substrate includes a switching element, a first electrode, a second electrode electrically connected with the switching element and facing the first electrode. In the second electrode, a plurality of slits in a V shape is formed along a first direction. The first and second substrates include first and second alignment films, respectively. The slit in the V shape includes a central portion, a first end connected with one end of the first central portion, a second end connected with the other end of the first central portion, a second central portion, a third end connected with one end of the second central portion, and a fourth end connected with the other end of the second central portion. The first end and the third end are connected each other.

In one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes first and second substrates, an active area to display an image, a seal material surrounding the active area, and an intermediate area between the active area and the seal area. In the intermediate area, first and second color filters are formed on the second substrate. An overcoat layer is laminated on the first and second color filters. First and second pillar-shaped spacers are provided between the overcoat layer and the first substrate corresponding to the first and second color filters to form a first and second cell gaps between the first and second substrates, respectively. The first cell gap adjacent to the active area between the first and second substrates is smaller than the second cell gap adjacent to the seal area in the intermediate area.

In one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes a plurality of pixel electrodes arranged in a matrix of rows and columns on a first substrate. A plurality of counter electrodes extend along the pixel electrodes in the row direction. Each of the counter electrodes includes a first counter electrode opposing to the plurality of pixel electrodes through a first insulating layer and a second counter electrode opposing to the first counter electrode through a second insulating layer. The first counter electrode is electrically connected with the second counter electrode through a contact hole formed in the second insulating layer. The wiring resistance of the second counter electrode is smaller than that of the first counter electrode.

Liquid crystal display device and method for manufacturing the same

A liquid crystal display device includes an array substrate, a counter substrate and a liquid crystal layer having liquid crystal molecules interposed therebetween. The liquid crystal molecules are aligned in a direction normal to a surface of the substrates under a condition where no electrical voltage is supplied between a picture electrode and a counter electrode. An alignment control device is provided at the counter substrate and configured to control the alignment of the liquid crystal molecules under a condition where an electric field is applied between the picture electrode and the counter electrode. A scanning line crossing a pixel is divided into first and second segments. The array substrate includes a connecting element to connect the first and second segments opposite the alignment control device.

A liquid crystal display device includes an active area which is composed of pixels arrayed in a matrix, and a light-shield area surrounding the active area. The liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate including pixel electrodes disposed in the respective pixels, a second substrate including color filters disposed in the respective pixels, and a counter-electrode which is disposed to cover the color filters and extends from the active area to at least a part of the light-shield area, and a liquid crystal layer held between the first substrate and the second substrate. The pixel electrode and the color filter of the pixel, which is disposed at an end portion of the active area, extend into the light-shield area beyond a boundary between the active area and the light-shield area.

A display device includes a first wiring line group of wiring lines connected to odd-number-th scan lines, a second wiring line group of wiring lines connected to even-number-th scan lines, a first inspection wiring line connected to first wiring lines of the first wiring line group, a second inspection wiring line connected to second wiring lines of the first wiring line group, which neighbor the first wiring lines, a third inspection wiring line connected to third wiring lines of the second wiring line group, and a fourth inspection wiring line connected to fourth wiring lines of the second wiring line group, which neighbor the third wiring lines.
