An execution period of the first aiming process and an execution period of the second aiming process at least partially overlap each other.

The vehicle inspection device includes: a target robot T including a corner reflectorthat reflects an electromagnetic wave emitted from the radar device R, and an electromagnetic wave characteristic measurement devicethat measures characteristics of the electromagnetic wave emitted from the radar device R; and a control devicethat controls the target robot T. The control devicecalculates an attachment position of the radar device R and a direction of an optical axis on the basis of electromagnetic wave characteristics measured by the electromagnetic wave characteristic measurement device, and moves the target robot T to an inspection position that is determined on the basis of the calculation result.

Wheels of a two-wheeled motor vehicle are supported by support rollers corresponding to each wheel, respectively, and an antilock brake system is operated for each wheel. Measuring meansandmeasure values related to the rotation speed of rollers supporting the wheel for which the antilock brake system operates. Based on the values obtained by the measuring meansand, the waveform accompanying the change in rotation speed of the wheel that occurs by the operation of the antilock brake system is computed by a computing meansbased on the values obtained by the measuring meansand. A determination meansdetermines whether or not a portion of the waveform obtained by the computing meansfalls within a predetermined range or not. According to the present brake system test of a two-wheeled motor vehicle, not only is it possible to specify the malfunctioning portion easily, but it is also possible to reduce the time required for each test of the motor vehicle dramatically, enabling the test of the two-wheeled motor vehicle to be performed with high accuracy and efficiency.

A wire disconnection inspecting device includes a vehicle position recognition unit for detecting that a vehicle has reached an inspection position; a preparation timing recognition unit for detecting that a step preceding by one is reached; a terminal for transmitting an operation signal to an ECU so as to make an electrical connection to a heating conductor; an infrared camera for imaging a rear shield of the vehicle; and a main processing unit for acquiring thermal image data from the infrared camera and inspecting disconnection of the heating conductor. The main processing unit recognizes that the vehicle has reached a step preceding by one according to the preparation timing recognition unit and makes electrical connection to the heating conductor via the terminal. The main processing unit acquires the image data from the infrared camera when the vehicle has reached the inspection position.

Wire disconnection inspecting device and method

An apparatus and method for inspecting a motorcycle. A braking force inspecting unit is provided for calculating a braking force from results measured by a torque measuring unit to determine whether the braking force is acceptable or not when a brake is fully applied and the support rollers are rotated by a motor. A speedometer inspecting unit is provided for determining whether a speedometer is acceptable or not from results measured by a rotational speed measuring unit when the support rollers are rendered rotatable and an engine of the motorcycle is operated. A brake system inspecting unit is provided for calculating a change in a vehicle speed of the motorcycle from the results measured by the rotational speed measuring unit and determining whether an ABS and a CBS operate acceptably or not when the engine of the motorcycle is operated.

Apparatus and method for inspecting motorcycle

While a vehicle is running on a bench type of testing apparatus for inspecting a cornering control mechanism, the connection of one of drums on which one of the left and right driving wheels is mounted is released from the other drums. Then, the rotational speed of one of the driving wheels increases and the rotational speed of the other of the driving wheels decreases. At this time, a controller mounted on the vehicle judges that the vehicle is in an oversteering state, and the brake of one of the driving wheels is switched on (or operated). Then, based on the deceleration of one of the driving wheels, a discrimination is made as to whether the cornering control mechanism has operated normally or not. Since the rotational speed of one of the driving wheels decreases also when an accelerator is switched off (or pressing down of the accelerator pedal is released), a discrimination is made based on the deceleration of the other of the driving wheels as to whether the accelerator is switched off or not. When a discrimination is made that the accelerator has been switched off, the discrimination of operation of the cornering control mechanism based on the deceleration of one of the driving wheels is prohibited.

Method of inspecting cornering control mechanism of vehicle

An apparatus for testing an anti-lock brake system has rolls and device for detecting rotational changes of the rolls. The test is performed by running a vehicle having mounted thereon the anti-lock brake system while wheels of the vehicle are placed on the rolls, actuating the anti-lock brake system when a predetermined speed has been attained, and judging operating conditions of the anti-lock brake system from rotational changes of the rolls at the time of braking. In the apparatus, the friction coefficient of each of the rolls is set to such a value that a frictional force to act between each of the rolls and each of the wheels at the time of braking exceeds an inertia force of each of the rolls. Also the inertia weight of each of the rolls is set to such a value that deceleration of each of the wheels at the time of braking can be increased to a predetermined level which is required to start an anti-lock control and that each of the wheels does not stop before the completion of a first braking pressure reduction by the anti-lock control.
