A method is provided that forms a solid film on a bearing component of a rolling bearing. A solution containing a fluorine compound and a lubricant having no functional group is allowed to adhere to the bearing component as a first liquid film (adhesion step). The adhering first liquid film is hardened to form the solid film on the bearing component. The rolling bearing including the bearing component with the solid film formed thereon is rotated. The rolling bearing is washed in a washer fluid containing the same lubricant as that used in the adhesion step, and the washer fluid is allowed to adhere to the bearing component as a second liquid film. Then, the adhering second liquid film is dried.

Rolling bearing, rotating machine element, and solid-film formation method

A method is provided that forms a solid film on a bearing component of a rolling bearing. A solution containing a fluorine compound and a lubricant having no functional group is allowed to adhere to the bearing component as a liquid film, the fluorine compound containing 3-(trimethoxysilyl) propyl methacrylate, hexafluoropropene, and methyl methacrylate as components. The solid film is formed on the at least one of the bearing components by hardening the adhering liquid film.

Disclosed is a covered member including a base material, a first intermediate layer that has a roughened surface and covers the base material, and a DLC film that covers the surface of the first intermediate layer. The first intermediate layer and the DLC film are formed in a state where the temperature of the base material is kept at 300&#xb0; C. or lower. The surface of the first intermediate layer is roughened by collision of ions.

A split outer ring of a split rolling bearing, which splits in a radial direction, includes a pair of split outer ring members which are each formed into a semi-cylindrical shape and which are formed into a cylindrical shape by being butted against each other at circumferential end portions. The present invention provides a DLC film that has good adhesiveness even in a low-temperature environment, and a DLC film-forming method capable of forming this DLC film. The present invention also provides a DLC film that has excellent initial compatibility, and a DLC film-forming method capable of forming this DLC film. In the present invention, a first opposing surface () that faces an inner clutch plate, of a substrate () of an outer clutch plate () is covered by a DLC film (). Also, a treatment layer () is formed on a surface layer portion of the substrate (). The treatment layer () is formed by applying direct-current pulse voltage to the substrate (), and generating plasma in an atmosphere that contains argon gas and hydrogen gas.

DLC film-forming method and DLC film

A rolling bearing includes an inner ring, an outer ring, and a plurality of rolling elements. A large number of inside dimples in which a liquid lubricant is retained and a large number of outside dimples in which a solid lubricant is retained are formed in at least one of an inner ring raceway surface and an outer ring raceway surface. The inside dimples are formed in a contact region at which the raceway surface contact the rolling elements or in a section of each non-contact region, the section being close to the contact region. The outside dimples are formed outside a portion in which the inside dimples are formed.

A method of producing a coated member in which a base material surface is at least partially coated with a diamond-like carbon film, the method includes: a diamond-like carbon film deposition process in which a diamond-like carbon film is formed on a surface of the base material by generating plasma by applying voltage to the base material in a processing chamber that stores the base material, while evacuating the processing chamber and introducing feedstock gas that contains at least a carbon compound into the processing chamber; and a hydrogenation process in which the deposited diamond-like carbon film is hydrogenated using hydrogen gas by stopping the voltage application and introducing hydrogen gas inducted instead of the feedstock gas, while the evacuation is being continued.

A bearing apparatus includes two split outer ring halves disposed in close contact with each other and a plurality of rollers. A circumferential end of each of the split outer ring halves has a concave-and-convex shape including a first slope portion inclined with respect to a line extending along an axial direction of the split outer ring halves and a second slope portion inclined in an opposite direction to that of the first slope portion. Each of the rollers is provided with crowning so as to be shaped in barrel form, and an amount of crowning is set such that an apex of a projecting portion at the concave-and-convex shape of each of the split outer ring halves is located on an axially outer side of a rolling surface of the roller rolling on an inner peripheral surface of each of the split outer ring halves.

A bearing apparatus includes: two split outer ring halves which includes outer ring raceway surfaces and are disposed within a supporting hole of the housing, respectively; and a plurality of rollers which are disposed on respective inner surfaces of the both split outer ring halves and supports a shaft. There is provided a rolling bearing including an inner ring having an inner ring raceway surface, an outer ring having an outer ring raceway surface and a shoulder portion formed on one axial side of the outer ring raceway surface, a plurality of rolling elements which roll between the inner ring raceway surface and the outer ring raceway surface, and a cage adapted to hold the plurality of rolling elements at predetermined intervals in a circumferential direction and having a guided surface which confronts the shoulder portion of the outer ring in such a manner as to be brought into sliding contact therewith. The rotation of the cage is guided through sliding contact of the guided surface of the cage with a guiding surface of the shoulder portion of the outer ring. A guiding space which is a radial space between the guiding surface of the shoulder portion of the outer ring and the guided surface of the cage is made to increase as approaching the rolling elements.

A bearing apparatus includes: two split outer ring halves which are mounted to the housing; a plurality of rolling elements which are provided so as to roll on the two split outer ring halves; and a cage which holds the rolling elements such that the rolling elements are disposed at substantially equal intervals in a circumferential direction of the cage and which is split at a position of the cage to form joint surfaces, an outside diameter of the cage being guided by inner circumferential surfaces of the split outer ring halves. An outside diametrical dimension in a normal direction to the joint surfaces is made larger than an outside diametrical dimension of the cage in a direction parallel to the joint surface, and vicinity of an outside diametrical position of the cage lying in the normal direction is made to be guided by the outer ring halves.
