The equipment for producing a corrugate fin is capable of forming corrugated sections by one closing action. The equipment comprises: a plurality of punches respectively having projections, each of which is upwardly projected from an upper face of the punch and has a side slope face; a pair of cam blocks being capable of relatively moving close and away each other, the cam blocks respectively having pressing sections, which are capable of moving along the side slope faces and contacting the projections; and a cam plate relatively moving the cam blocks close or away each other. Positions of the side slope faces of the projections are different so as to make the pressing sections contact the projections in order, and the cam blocks move the punches toward the die in order by one closing action of the blocks.

A backup memory control unit can reduce the current consumption when a memory (SDRAM) is inactive by providing the memory with an unsettled mode in which no power is supplied to the memory. It provides the memory with the unsettled mode, and halts the power supply from a backup power supply to the SDRAM in the unsettled mode in which the SDRAM is not in operation, thereby limiting an increase in the current consumption. The functions are executed by a hardware circuit without using a backup microcomputer.

A vehicle area detector correctly detects a vehicle area. The vehicle area detector detects a vehicle area in a vehicle candidate area having a high probability of existence of a vehicle in an image produced by imaging means mounted on a vehicle. For the correct detection of the vehicle area, the detector includes a horizontal symmetry evaluator to evaluate a degree of horizontal symmetry with respect to a degree of gradation in the image of the area, a variance evaluator to evaluate a degree of variance in the degree of gradation in the image of the area, a lower-area mean gradation evaluator to evaluate a difference in the degree of gradation of an image between a lower area of a vehicle candidate area and an area in the proximity of a lower edge of the candidate area exceeds a predetermined threshold value, and an area determining unit to determine a vehicle candidate area as the vehicle area in accordance with results of evaluation from the symmetry evaluator, the variance evaluator, and the lower-are mean gradation evaluator.
