An optical structure comprises an embossed layer having an embossed face including a recording area, the recording area including an embossed recording body having an uneven structure; and a light reflecting layer covering a part or the entirety of the recording area. The recording area includes a refractive mirror area and a diffractive area in the vicinity of the refractive mirror area. The refractive mirror area includes a plurality of aligned inclined mirrors constituting the embossed recording body, and the diffractive area has a diffractive structure. The refractive mirror area has a plurality of local mirror structures, and the diffractive area has a plurality of local diffractive structures. Each pair of the local diffractive structure and the local mirror structure adjacent to the local diffractive structure forms one local structure.

Optical structure

The display of the present invention includes an uneven-structure-forming layer having a surface provided with a plurality of concavities or a plurality of convexities respectively provided with flat bottoms and flat tops substantially parallel to the flat bottoms, and a light reflecting layer covering all or a part of an uneven surface of the uneven-structure-forming layer. The uneven-structure-forming layer is provided with two kinds of uneven-structure-forming regions. Each of the two kinds of uneven-structure-forming regions has a constant optical distance between the flat bottoms and the flat tops, but the optical distance is different between the two kinds of regions. The two kinds of uneven-structure-forming regions are alternately arrayed. The optical distances in the two kinds of uneven-structure-forming regions have respective set values which are so selected, when forming the uneven surface of the uneven-structure-forming layer, to form a combination contributing to reduction of a color shift of the display.

Display

A lens array sheet, a transparent screen using the same, and a rear-projection display device are provided in which it is possible to control a perspective angle for the image in both a horizontal direction and a vertical direction without causing a problem in that a gain of a light is reduced by an optical absorption and an S/N ratio is reduced by an increased white dispersion. First lens and second lens arrays are formed by disposing a plurality of half-cylindrical lenses in parallel on a common plane such that longitudinal directions of the cylindrical lenses should be orthogonal to each other. A unified lens array layer and a shading layer in which a section through which a light does not transmit is formed on a focal plane of the lens array layer form a lens array sheet. Furthermore, fresnel lenses are combined so as to form a transparent screen.

Lens array sheet, transparent screen, and rear-projection display

In order to provide a dual-surface lens sheet in which a color shift is reduced and positions of unit lenses on a front surface and a back surface are easily aligned even if the unit lenses are disposed in fine pitch when used for a rear projection screen which is used for a display device using a plurality of projector as light sources, a half-column-cylindrical-convex-lens is used in a lens sheet having lens sections on front surface and a back surface such that pitch ratio for disposing the unit lenses on the front surface and the back surface is in a range of 1:2 to 1:30 and disposition directions of the lens sections are uniform.

Unified lens array layerand a shading layerin which a section through which a light does not transmit is formed on a focal plain of the lens array layerform a lens array sheet. Furthermore, fresnel lens are combined so as to form a transparent screen.

Lens array sheet and transmission screen and rear projection type display

In order to provide a micro-lens sheet in which unit lenses are disposed in highly accurate pitch so as to control the light diffusing characteristics of the light emission direction not only in a horizontal direction but also over 360 degrees by using the lens function of one piece of lens sheet, a micro-lens sheet has a micro-lens array section in which unit lenses are disposed in approximate matrix in a second dimensional manner on at least one surface of a base board, and the micro-lens array section is formed on only one surface of the base board, the micro-lens array section includes the unit lens having an aspherical shape, and disposition pitch of neighboring unit lenses is 200 &#x3bc;m or shorter.

Micro-lens sheet and projection screen

The present invention provides a lenticular sheet in which cylindrical lens parts including a radiation curable resin are formed on one side of a transparent support, and at least a light-diffusing layer and light-blocking stripes are formed on the flat surface located on the opposite side of said sheet. Cylindrical lens parts with a fine pitch of 0.3 mm or less can be obtained; furthermore, finely pitched light-blocking stripes can be accurately formed in the desired positions. A projection screen constructed by combining the aforementioned lenticular sheet with a Fresnel lens sheet is ideally suited for viewing a liquid crystal projection TV with a high image definition.
