A vehicle with a pet protection function includes a pet guard body, a first air-bag device, and a controller. The pet guard body is disposed in a vehicle compartment of the vehicle on which a pet is to be loaded in such a manner that the pet guard body partitions a vehicle compartment into a front portion and a rear portion. The first air-bag device is configured to be deployed behind the pet guard body. The controller is configured to deploy the first air-bag device upon contact of the vehicle.

Vehicle with pet protection function

A pet guard apparatus to be applied to a vehicle includes a pet guard body and a first air-bag device. The pet guard body is attachable to a vehicle compartment of the vehicle in which a pet is to be placed in such a manner that the pet guard body extends in a vertical direction in the vehicle compartment to partition the vehicle compartment into a front portion and a rear portion. The first air-bag device is attached to the pet guard body. The first air-bag device includes a pet air-bag and a pet air-bag inflator. The pet air-bag is configured to be deployed behind the pet guard body. The pet air-bag inflator is configured to be operated to deploy the pet air-bag upon contact of the vehicle.

Pet guard apparatus to be applied to vehicle, and vehicle

A passenger protection apparatus includes a detector, an adjuster, a controller, and a setting unit. The detector is configured to detect an environmental condition outside a vehicle; the adjuster is configured to be able to correct a sitting posture of a passenger to sit on a seat in a proper position; the controller is configured to control actuation of the adjuster; and the setting unit is configured to set a time frame divided into a plurality of frames until a predicted collision between an own vehicle and an object outside the vehicle, based on a result of detection by the detector. The controller controls the actuation of the adjuster to correct the sitting posture of the passenger in a correction frame at least contained in the time frame.

Passenger protection apparatus for vehicle

A passenger protection apparatus includes an airbag and an inflator. The airbag is configured to hold a passenger sitting on a seat of a vehicle when the airbag deploys, and the inflator is configured to supply gas to expand the airbag. The airbag includes: a main bag configured to hold a head and an upper body of the passenger; sub bags configured to protrude to the passenger to deploy between the main bag and the passenger; and connectors configured to swingably couple the sub bags to the main bag at positions out of a center of the seat in a vehicle width direction, so that the sub bags can swing when a force is applied to the sub bags in the vehicle width direction.

Passenger protection apparatus

A passenger protection apparatus for a vehicle includes an airbag and an inflator. The airbag is provided to be able to deploy around a passenger in a vehicle, and the inflator is configured to supply gas to deploy the airbag. The airbag includes a main bag configured to support a head and an upper body of the passenger bending down, and a sub bag projecting from the main bag toward a passenger side. After expanding in a direction different from the passenger side, the sub bag turns to the passenger side.

A vehicle airbag apparatus includes a curtain airbag, a collision direction detector, a deployment inhibitor, and an airbag controller. The curtain airbag is deployable in an interior of a vehicle from an upper portion on a side of the vehicle so as to cover a side window of the vehicle. The collision direction detector detects a collision direction of a collision object and the vehicle. The deployment inhibitor partially suppresses deployment of the curtain airbag. In response to the collision direction detector detecting a substantially forward collision of the vehicle, the airbag controller deploys the curtain airbag in such a manner as to activate the deployment inhibitor to suppress deployment of the curtain airbag over an area interfering with an extending portion of a seat belt being worn by an occupant.

Vehicle airbag apparatus

An airbag device is disposed beneath the lateral surface of a driver's seat backrest facing a front passenger seat, and beneath the lateral surface of a front passenger seat backrest facing a driver's seat. The air bag device has first and second airbags that are inflatable and deployable upon a collision of a vehicle equipped with airbag device. The inflated and deployed first airbag has a depressed portion on its outer side in a vehicle width direction near the shoulder of an occupant, and the second airbag inflates and deploys so as to fill the depressed portion. Upon the collision of the vehicle, when the body size of the occupant is greater than or equal to a predetermined size, only the first airbag inflates and deploys, whereas when the body size is smaller than the predetermined size, the first and second airbags inflate and deploy.

Airbag device

A plurality of vent holes are formed on an airbag body and each vent hole is blocked by an elongate blocking member. An end of the blocking member is fixed to the airbag body and other portions are temporarily fixed to an opposite inner surface of the airbag body. When the airbag body is inflated, at a portion abutting a shoulder of an occupant, the connecting member is loose, the blocking member blocks the vent hole, and thereby gas is not discharged. At portions other than the portion abutting the shoulder of the occupant, a temporary joint portion of the blocking member is pulled and peeled off, the vent holes are opened, and thereby the gas is discharged forward.
