A vehicle drive assist system comprises a camera for picking up an image of an area existing in an advancing direction of a vehicle; display means for displaying the image picked up by the camera; steering angle detecting means for detecting a steering angle for steering the vehicle; traveling path predicting means for predicting a traveling path of the vehicle on the basis of the steering angle detected by the steering angle detecting means; and drive assist means for overlaying on the display means drive assist information containing the vehicle predictive traveling path predicted by the traveling path predicting means and guide lines prolonged from the lines defining the width of the vehicle body on the image of the area existing in the vehicle advancing direction.

Vehicle drive assist system

A camera unit is mounted on a vehicle . When an attempt is made to park the vehicle in a parking lot, a predicted path 5 and guidelines 5 are displayed on an information display together with an image. Data to be used for displaying the predicted path 5 and the guidelines 5 are stored beforehand in internal memory of an image processing circuit provided in a parking assist ECU so that the data can be selected in accordance with specifications, such as the type of the vehicle . The predicted path 5 is computed on the basis of a steering angle detected by a steering angle sensor provided in an exposed portion of the steering shaft . The length or color of the predicted path 5 is changed in accordance with the speed of the vehicle . Further, a vehicle driving support system is provided with a back sonar , and hence the length or color of the predicted path 5 is also changed in accordance with the result of detection of an obstacle.

A speech recognizing apparatus compares a speech command from a user with one of registration patterns stored in a storage unit in turn. Then if the speech command coincides with one of the registration patterns, the speech recognizing apparatus controls a predetermined electronic apparatus associated with an operation related to the registration pattern. If the speech command does not coincide with any one of the registration patterns, the speech recognizing apparatus stores into a memory the speech command as a new registration pattern in which the speech command is related to a manipulation of the electronic apparatus produced by the user immediately after speech command is produced.

A noise control device disposed at the outlet of a tail pipe which emits exhaust noise of an automobile to silence noise from the tail pipe comprises a speaker which is arranged near the tail pipe and of which the open surface has a constant angle with respect to a vertical plane, an enclosure which closes the rear portion of the speaker, and a silencing sound guide portion which guides silencing sounds emitted from the front surface of the speaker to the outlet of the tail pipe. A closed space into which a bumper for absorbing impact in case of collision is made, is used as a resonant-cavity of said speaker. Based on the amount of silencing noise which becomes greater as a plurality of microphones are arranged to be closer to the speaker, the outputs of the plurality of microphones apart a constant distance from said speaker are synthesized.

As in a compartment of an automotive vehicle, when a left- and a right-channel loudspeakers are disposed at angularly different positions from each other with respect to a frontward direction of a listening position, there will be formed a sound field laterally asymmetric with respect to the frontward direction of the listening position. In order to correct the asymmetry of the sound field, a crosstalk signal obtained by correcting the phase and the level of an acoustic signal of the left-channel from an acoustic signal source and a crosstalk adjustment signal obtained by correcting the level of the acoustic signal of the left-channel are fed to the right loudspeaker, or a center loudspeaker disposed between the left and right loudspeakers, together with an acoustic signal of the right-channel from the acoustic signal source. Similarly, a crosstalk signal obtained by correcting the phase and the level of an acoustic signal of the right-channel and a crosstalk adjustment signal obtained by correcting the level of the acoustic signal of the right-channel are fed to the left or center loudspeaker together with the acoustic signal of the left-channel from the acoustic signal source.

Apparatus for expanding and controlling sound fields

An automatic sound controlling apparatus including a first adaptive filter means that forms a compensating signal for canceling a stationary sound, a signal producer means that produces a predetermined shape signal based on a timing signal with respect to a sound, a second adaptive filter means that forms a compensating signal for canceling a fluctuating sound by the predetermined shape signal, whereby in the case that a sound period changes sharply, an output signal of the second adaptive filter means is output in stead of the first adaptive filter means.

Automatic sound controlling method and apparatus for improving accuracy

In a noise controller which forms a noise cancelling sound having a phase opposite to and a sound pressure equal to those of a noise infiltrating into a closed space, any deviation in its transfer characteristics from the initial equalization is easily checked and judged owing to the provision of an adaptive filter which automatically varies the filter coefficient and forms a cancelling signal for forming a cancelling sound, a coefficient updating means which updates the filter coefficient based on an error signal after the noise has been cancelled, a simulated transfer characteristics compensation means which forms the initial equalization by simulating transfer characteristics of a transmission path via the space in which the noise is to be cancelled and forms a reproduced reference signal, a white noise generating means which generates white noise to check the initial equalization, and an initial equalization judging means which judges the accuracy of the initial equalization based on a ratio (S/N) of the reproduced reference signal obtained from white noise to the error signal. A change in the conditions for cancelling noise is detected in the closed space, and any deviation from the initial equalization is judged.

This invention relates to a control system for controlling equipment provided inside a vehicle utilizing a speech recognition apparatus inside the vehicle. This control system includes an in-phase component detector (4) for detecting an in-phase component of voice signals from microphones (1), a phase shift and in-phase component detector (5) for shifting a phase of the voice signals to detect an in-phase component, and a command seat discriminator (6) for comparing output levels of the in-phase component detector (4) and the phase shift and in-phase component detector (5). In addition, the control system includes validity/invalidity detector (7) for determining the validity and invalidity of a command content resulting from outputs of a speech recognizer (3) based upon a signal generated from the command seat discriminator (6), and a various controller (8) that controls any one of various pieces of equipment with respect to the valid commands output from the validity/invalidity detector (7) to reliably discriminate commands from the driver's seat and the passenger seats in a noisy vehicle.
