A power distribution system includes: a power distribution network that includes one or more connections to which a load is connectable; and a plurality of power supplies capable of supplying power to the power distribution network. Power is supplied to the power distribution network from at least one power supply of the plurality of power supplies. Adjacent power supplies included in the plurality of power supplies are arranged with a gap therebetween, and a connection included in the one or more connections is positioned in the gap.

An arc detection device includes an obtainer and a determiner. The obtainer obtains a measurement result for a voltage applied to one target power supply line among a plurality of power supply lines to which power is supplied from a DC power source. The determiner determines, based on a component of a specific frequency band in the measurement result for the voltage obtained by the obtainer, whether there is a possibility of an arc fault occurring in the plurality of power supply lines.

An arc detection device includes: a current detector that includes a magnetic core penetrated by first and second paths each connecting a DC power source and a device, and detects a current flowing through each of the first and second paths in accordance with a magnetic field generated at the magnetic core; a low impedance circuit having a lower impedance than the DC power source and the device, the low impedance circuit being connected to the first path and the second path to cause a high frequency component to bypass one of the first path or the second path; and an arc determiner that determines an occurrence of an arc based on a current detected by the current detector. In the magnetic core, a direct current flows through the first path in a direction opposite to a direction in which a direct current flows through the second path.

A battery pack includes a secondary battery, a circuit having a consumer consuming power of the battery, terminals charging or discharging the pack, a switch that, when the voltage of the battery reaches the discharge cutoff voltage, is opened to stop discharge of the battery through the terminals, and a controller performing a first discharge operation activating the circuit and causing the consumer to consume a remaining power of the battery until a voltage of the battery reaches a first threshold value, higher than the discharge cutoff voltage, and stopping, when the voltage of the battery reaches the first threshold value, the first discharge operation. The controller also performs a second discharge operation activating the circuit and causing the consumer to consume the remaining power of the battery until the voltage of the battery reaches a third threshold value, lower than the discharge cutoff voltage.

A power management method includes: receiving a surplus power value, indicating an amount of surplus power; receiving an inquiry regarding a power supply using the surplus power in a first time period; and issuing, in accordance with the inquiry, first power identification information in association with an accumulated value of the amount of surplus power corresponding to the first time period, the first power identification information allowing a power supply apparatus to supply power using the surplus power corresponding to the first time period. When a first power supply request associated with the first power identification information and requesting a power supply to a first load is received, the power supply apparatus is caused to supply an amount of power equal to or smaller than the accumulated value of the amount of surplus power, to the first load, as first power that does not cause a fee charging process.
