Provided is a polyamide resin composition for a slide fastener that includes at least one polyamide resin and reinforcing fibers, wherein a total mass of the polyamide resin and the reinforcing fibers accounts for 90% by mass or more of the composition; wherein poly(m-xylylene adipamide) (MXD 6) accounts for 60% by mass or more of the polyamide resin; wherein reinforcing fibers account for 45 to 70% by mass of the total mass of the polyamide resin and the reinforcing fibers; wherein both first reinforcing fibers having a fiber diameter of from 5 to 7 &#x3bc;m and second reinforcing fibers having a fiber diameter larger than that of the first reinforcing fibers by more than 2 &#x3bc;m account for 90% by mass or more of the reinforcing fibers; and wherein the first reinforcing fibers account for 20% by mass or more and less than 50% by mass of the reinforcing fibers.

Polyamide resin composition for slide fastener, slide fastener component, and slide fastener provided with same

Provided is a molded component for slide fasteners, which has a good balance between mechanical strength and platability. This molded component for slide fasteners is made of a resin composition that contains 30-50% by mass of a polyamide and 50-70% by mass of reinforcing fibers, with the total of the polyamide and the reinforcing fibers being substantially 100% by mass. In the resin composition, the polyamide has a weight average molecular weight of 30,000-80,000, and 50% by mass or more of the polyamide is composed of an aliphatic polyamide.

An integrally moldable molded surface fastener retains practical rigidity, while having attraction force to a magnet and is prevented from being easily broken during attachment and detachment handlings to and from loop-shaped engaging elements. A first resin composition including 80% by mass or more of a thermoplastic polyester and containing no magnetic material is used in at least a part of a substrate portion, and a second resin composition containing a thermoplastic polyester, a thermoplastic polyester elastomer and a magnetic material at a certain proportion is used in at least a part of engaging elements of the molded surface fastener.

A fastening component is a molded article of a mixture in which microfibrillated cellulose fibers are dispersed in a thermoplastic resin, wherein the thermoplastic resin has a melting point of between 150 and 200&#xb0; C., and wherein when the total mass % of the thermoplastic resin and the cellulose fibers is set to be 100 mass %, the mass % of the cellulose fibers included in the mixture is greater than 20 mass % and less than 60 mass %. When the total mass % of the thermoplastic resin and the cellulose fibers is set to be 100%, the mass % of the cellulose fibers included in the mixture is preferably equal to or greater than 30 mass % and equal to or less than 50 mass %.
