A resin composition including polytetrafluoroethylene (A); graphite (B); talc (C); and an abrasion resistance-improving filler (D), the resin composition containing 50 to 80 parts by mass of the polytetrafluoroethylene (A), 1 to 35 parts by mass of the graphite (B), 1 to 35 parts by mass of the talc (C), 16 to 40 parts by mass of a total of the graphite (B) and the talc (C), and 2 to 10 parts by mass of the abrasion resistance-improving filler (D) relative to 100 parts by mass of a total of the polytetrafluoroethylene (A), the graphite (B), the talc (C), and the abrasion resistance-improving filler (D). The present invention provides a method of producing a paste, including the steps of coagulating primary particles of polytetrafluoroethylene in an aqueous dispersion that contains the primary particles and water to form slurry that contains secondary particles of polytetrafluoroethylene and water or secondary particles of polytetrafluoroethylene floating in water; and adding an organic solvent to at least one of the slurry and the secondary particles of polytetrafluoroethylene floating in water to provide the paste.

Paste containing polytetrafluoroethylene and method for producing same

The invention provides a polytetrafluoroethylene composition having high flowability. The polytetrafluoroethylene composition contains a particulate polytetrafluoroethylene having fibrillability and a particulate synthetic amorphous silica. The particulate polytetrafluoroethylene is a polytetrafluoroethylene fine powder or a polytetrafluoroethylene molding powder. The particulate synthetic amorphous silica is obtained by a dry process and has an average primary particle size smaller than 200 nm. The particulate synthetic amorphous silica is attached to the surface of the particulate polytetrafluoroethylene.

Polytetrafluoroethylene composition

The invention provides a production method for producing low molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene enabling easy removal of most of C8-C14 perfluorocarboxylic acids and salts thereof, which are unfortunately generated by irradiation, from the low molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene. The method for producing low molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene includes: (1) irradiating polytetrafluoroethylene to provide low molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene having a melt viscosity of 1&#xd7;10to 7&#xd7;10Pa&#xb7;s at 380&#xb0; C.; (2) pulverizing the low molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene; and (3) heating the low molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene pulverized in the step (2).

Also disclosed is a method for producing low molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene.

Provided is a molded body of a resin composition, which has improved easy wiping-off properties and scratch resistance. This resin composition contains (1) a thermoplastic resin and (2) a fluorine-containing copolymer; and the fluorine-containing copolymer (2) is a copolymer which comprises (a) a repeating unit formed from a fluorine-containing monomer represented by formula CH&#x2550;C(&#x2014;X)&#x2014;C(&#x2550;O)&#x2014;Y&#x2014;Z&#x2014;Rf, and (b) a repeating unit formed from a non-fluorine monomer having a hydrocarbon group with 14 or more carbon atoms, and which has a weight average molecular weight of 2,500-20,000.

Resin composition and molded body

A method for producing low molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene less likely to generate C8-C14 perfluorocarboxylic acids and salts thereof. The method includes: (1) feeding into an airtight container: polytetrafluoroethylene; at least one additive selected from the group consisting of hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, alcohols, and carboxylic acids other than C8-C14 perfluorocarboxylic acids; and at least one selected from the group consisting of inert gases other than the above additive and oxygen adsorbents; and (2) irradiating the polytetrafluoroethylene to provide low molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene having a complex viscosity of 1&#xd7;10to 7&#xd7;10Pa&#xb7;s at 380&#xb0; C.

Provided is a dripping inhibitor excellent in handling characteristics. The present invention provides a dripping inhibitor including a modified polytetrafluoroethylene, the inhibitor having an average particle size of 300 to 800 &#x3bc;m, an apparent density of 0.40 to 0.52 g/ml, a compression ratio of 1.20 or less, an aggregate disintegration degree with 50-sec vibration of 70% or more, a cylinder extrusion pressure at a reduction ratio 1500 of 80 MPa or less, and a standard specific gravity (SSG) of 2.140 to 2.230.

To provide a filler-containing or non-filler-containing polytetrafluoroethylene granular powder having a high apparent density, a small electrostatic charge and a superior powder flowability and giving a molded product which is free from lowering of tensile strength and elongation and coloring attributable to the surfactant and has a high degree of whiteness, and a process for preparing the same. The granulation is carried out by wetting 100 part by weight of a polytetrafluoroethylene powder or a mixture of polytetrafluoroethylene powder and filler with 30 to 60 parts by weight of an aqueous solution containing a nonionic surfactant having a hydrophobic segment comprising a poly(oxyalkylene) unit having 3 or 4 carbon atoms and a hydrophilic segment comprising a poly(oxyethylene) unit and then applying a mechanical force to the wetted polytetrafluoroethylene powder or the wetted mixture of polytetrafluoroethylene powder and filler.

Granular polytetrafluoroethylene powders and process for producing the same

To provide a method of shaping a granular polytetrafluoroethylene powder, in which a powder flowability can be enhanced and an apparent density can be increased without substantially changing an average particle size and particle size distribution of the powder. The granular polytetrafluoroethylene powder having an average particle size of 100 to 800 &mgr;m is subjected to shaping by using a rotating-type stirring vessel with two cross axes.
