A molded article for laser welding is disclosed which has excellent visible light transmittance and laser transmittance and in which variation in laser transmittance is suppressed, and an agent for suppressing variation in laser transmittance of a molded article for laser welding. The molded article for laser welding includes a polybutylene terephthalate resin composition containing 100 parts by mass of (A) a polybutylene terephthalate resin, (B) a polycarbonate resin in which the melt viscosity at 300° C. and a shear rate of 1000 secis 0.20 kPa·s or greater, and 1 part by mass or greater and 10 parts by mass or less of (C) an epoxy-based compound, the molded article having a thickness at a welded part of 1.3 mm or greater, and an agent for suppressing variation in laser transmittance of a molded article for laser welding, the agent containing an epoxy-based compound.

A method for improving the comparative tracking index of a thermoplastic resin, as measured in compliance with IEC60112, 3rd edition, is disclosed by blending a carbodiimide compound in the thermoplastic resin; use of a carbodiimide compound for improving the comparative tracking index of a thermoplastic resin, as measured in compliance with IEC60112, 3rd edition; and a tracking resistance improving agent for a thermoplastic resin, for improving the comparative tracking index of the thermoplastic resin, as measured in compliance with IEC60112, 3rd edition. The carbodiimide compound is preferably used at a ratio of 0.01 parts by mass or more with respect to 100 parts by mass of the thermoplastic resin.

Method for improving tracking resistance of thermoplastic resin

The present invention addresses the problem of suppressing corrosion of a molding machine or mold when molding a polybutylene terephthalate resin composition that uses a halogenated benzyl acrylate-based flame retardant as a flame retardant and suppressing corrosion of a metal terminal in an insert-molded article that uses the polybutylene terephthalate resin composition. The problem is solved by a polybutylene terephthalate resin composition that uses a halogenated benzyl acrylate-based flame retardant as a flame retardant, wherein the amount of halogenated aromatic compounds such as chlorobenzene in the manufacturing process for the flame retardant is suppressed.

Flame-retardant poly(butylene terephthalate) resin composition

The present invention addresses the problem of enhancing the fluidity of a polybutylene terephthalate resin composition that uses a halogenated benzyl acrylate-based flame retardant as a flame retardant while maintaining properties such as excellent mechanical strength that a polybutylene terephthalate-based resin possesses. The problem is solved by adding a protic compound to the polybutylene terephthalate resin composition that uses a halogenated benzyl acrylate-based flame retardant as a flame retardant.

Flame-retardant polybutylene terephthalate resin composition

A manufacturing method for a thermoplastic aromatic polyester resin composition is disclosed having a step of blending: a thermoplastic aromatic polyester resin A; an alkali composition B containing a thermoplastic aromatic polyester resin a and an alkali compound b; and a carbodiimide compound C. The alkali composition B is preferably a composition in which an aqueous solution of the alkali compound b is melt-kneaded with the thermoplastic aromatic polyester resin a. The carbodiimide compound C preferably contains an aromatic carbodiimide compound. The alkali compound U content in the thermoplastic aromatic polyester resin composition is preferably 10 ppm by mass or more and 100 ppm by mass or less.

Production method of thermoplastic aromatic polyester resin composition

Provided is a polybutylene terephthalate resin composition which has further improved fluidity (melt fluidity) while maintaining mechanical characteristics. The polybutylene terephthalate resin composition contains 0.05-5 parts by mass of a glycerin fatty acid ester having a hydroxyl value of 200-400, and 0.05-5 parts by mass of a polyvalent alcohol fatty acid ester having a hydroxyl value of 100 or less, with respect to 100 parts by mass of a polybutylene terephthalate resin. The glycerin fatty acid ester preferably contains glycerin and/or a dehydration condensation product thereof, and a fatty acid having 12 or more carbon atoms.

An extruded flexible flat cable, which has a superior formability, flexibility, adhesiveness, and fire-retardancy, with a low manufacturing cost, is adapted for sliding door of a motor vehicle and also other parts, and has a conductor covered with an insulation layer extrude-formed with an extrusion molding method, and the insulation layer formed from a fire-retardant resin composition containing a modified polybutylene terephthalate and a fire-retardant additive, where the fire-retardant resin composition has a melting point of 170-215 degrees C. measured in reference to JIS K7121 with a differential thermal analysis at a rate of temperature increase of 10 degrees C. per minute.

Extruded flexible flat cable

A resin composition including an aromatic polyester resin and having high levels of hydrolysis resistance and moldability is provided. The resin composition includes an aromatic polyester resin having a terminal carboxyl group content of not more than 30 eq/ton (component A), a cyclic carbodiimide compound having at least two carbodiimide rings, each having only one carbodiimide group (component B), and a polyvalent hydroxyl group-containing compound having a hydroxyl value of not less than 200 (component C).

Resin composition

The present invention provides an extruded flexible flat cable, which has a superior formability, flexibility, adhesiveness, and fire-retardancy, with a low manufacturing cost. The flexible flat cable of the present invention is adapted for sliding door of a motor vehicle and also other parts. The extruded flexible flat cable has a conductor covered with an insulation layer extrude-formed with an extrusion molding method. The insulation layer is formed from a fire-retardant resin composition containing a modified polybutylene terephthalate and a fire-retardant additive. The fire-retardant resin composition has a melting point of 170-215 degrees C. measured in reference to JIS K7121 with a differential thermal analysis at a rate of temperature increase of 10 degrees C. per minute.

Provided is a polybutylene terephthalate resin composition having excellent mold releasability, measurement stability and hydrolysis resistance, and exhibiting minimal discoloration under high-temperature conditions. The polybutylene terephthalate resin composition contains: (A) a polybutylene terephthalate resin, (B) a higher fatty acid ester of pentaerythritol, and (C) a low-molecular weight polyethylene having a number-average molecular weight of 3,000 to 7,000. It is preferable that the component (B) is pentaerythritol tetrastearate, and that the component (C) is a low-molecular weight polyethylene having a number-average molecular weight of 4,500 to 5,500.

Provided is a means for obtaining a polybutylene terephthalate resin composition that exhibits excellent hydrolysis resistance and high fluidity in a molten state. A carbodiimide compound (B) and a polyhydric hydroxyl group-containing compound (C) are added to a polybutylene terephthalate resin (A) having a terminal carboxyl group content of 30 meq/kg or lower. The polyhydric hydroxyl group-containing compound (C) that is used has a hydroxyl group value of 200 or higher. It is preferable for the polybutylene terephthalate resin (A) to have an intrinsic viscosity of 0.6 dL/g or higher.

Polybutylene terephthalate resin composition and hydrolysis resistance-improving agent

Provided is a resin molded body which has excellent flame retardance, weather resistance, shock resistance and tracking resistance. The resin molded body is composed of a thermoplastic resin composition comprising a thermoplastic resin, a polycarbonate, an elastomer, and a flame retardant. By adopting this combination of components, a Charpy impact value at 23&#xb0; C. measured in conformity with ISO 179/1eA is 15 kJ/m2 or more and flame retardance measured under a condition of thickness of 1.0 mm and in conformity with UL94 is V-0 or more, and a resin molded body which can be used favorably outdoors is produced.

Resin molded body

Thin-walled molded articles (i.e., molded articles where at least 70% of the wall thickness is 0.8 mm or less) are formed of a polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) molding composition having improved fluidity characteristics and desirable mechanical strength properties. The PBT molding composition includes (A) 100 parts by weight of a polybutylene terephthalate base resin having a melt index of between 40 and 200 as measured at 235.degree. C. under a load of 2160 grams according to ASTM D-1238; (B) between 1 to 60 parts by weight of plate-like glass flakes having an average flake dimension of between 10 to 200 .mu.m; and (C) between 0.01 to 5 parts by weight of a fatty acid metal salt.
