This invention provides a sensor attachment device that can be easily attached and detached, a sensor and a light emitting device for a photo-electrical sensor. By downward displacement of an operation member after tip ends of a pair of locking hooks are locked to a sensor main body by inserting the sensor main body into an insertion opening with second regions of a pair of facing surfaces respectively facing toward external surfaces of central portions of the pair of locking hooks, the central portions of the pair of locking hooks can be pressed inwardly by first regions of the pair of facing surfaces, thereby fixing the sensor main body to a holding member. Accordingly, the attachment of the sensor main body is easy in comparison with the conventional configuration in which a nut is screwed onto the sensor main body, then rotated and fastened.

In a position sensitive photoelectric sensor that calculates a distance to a target based on a triangular range finding using a light and outputs a result compared with a reference distance, first the reference distance Dref is set roughly by using a light receiving portion adjusting mechanism that changes an angle of a light receiving portion including a reception lens and a light receiving device. Then, the change adjustment of the reference distance is performed by teaching. In addition, the user performs a fine adjustment of the reference distance by a manual adjustment using an increase/decrease key if necessary.

A photoelectric switch device for detecting an object within a field of detection on the basis of a position of the object is presented. The position is determined on the basis of a value relating to light that is reflected by the object. The photoelectric switch device has a light projecting and receiving optical arrangement disposed on a front wall of a box shaped casing, a display unit and a push type of adjusting switch disposed on a rear wall of the box shaped casing. The photoelectric switch device also has a push type of selecting/fixing/setting switch and an indicator disposed on one of walls of the box shaped casing, except the front and rear walls, and an output cable extending from a corner between the rear wall and another wall opposite to the one wall. The selecting/fixing/setting switch is used to select types of information that is to be displayed on the display unit in order to set and fix the value. The adjusting switch is used to adjust the value of information displayed on the display unit.

In a first display mode, a threshold value is numerically displayed on a first display section and the current light reception amount (current value) is numerically displayed on a second display section. In a second display mode, the tolerance value is numerically displayed on the first display section and the current light reception amount is numerically displayed on the second display section. A flow sensor comprises a detection section and a main unit section. The detection section comprises a casing, a through water pipe line, a transmitter which transmits an ultrasonic wave, a receiver which receives the ultrasonic wave from the transmitter, and a flow indicator having light emission sections. The main unit section comprises a display section for displaying the flow quantity value. The casing and the through water pipe line have a width perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the through water pipe line, and the width of the casing is approximately equal to the width of the through water pipe line. One of the faces of the casing consists of the light emitting sections and a planar face whereby the width of the casing can be minimized. The detection section further comprises an alarm detector and a compute unit performs different processing when the alarm signal is on.
