A magnetic heat pump system which arranges permanent magnets at the two sides of a magnetocalorific effect material to thereby strengthen the magnetic field to improve the cooling and heating ability, which magnetic heat pump system uses first and second magnets which move inside and outside of the containers in the state facing each other to change a magnitude of a magnetic field which is applied to a plurality of containers in which a magnetocalorific effect material is stored so as to change a temperature of a heat transport medium which is made to flow through the containers by a reciprocating pump, the intensity of the magnetic field which is applied to the magnetocalorific effect material in the containers being increased to enlarge the change of temperature of the heat transport medium which is discharged from the magnetic heat pump and improve the cooling and heating efficiency.

Magnetic heat pump system and air-conditioning system using that system

A magnetic heat pump cycle has a first to a fourth steps, which are repeatedly carried out. In the first step, a movement of heat medium is stopped by a pressure valve and a pressure accumulating tank and a magnetic field is applied by a magnetic-field control unit to a magnetic working material. In the second step, the pressure valve is opened so that the heat medium flows in a working chamber from a second axial end to a first axial end, and the magnetic field is increased depending on a moving speed of the heat medium. In the third step, the movement of the heat medium is stopped and the magnetic field is decreased. In the fourth step, the heat medium is moved in a reversed direction and the magnetic field is decreased depending on the moving speed of the heat medium.

Reciprocating magnetic heat pump apparatus with multiple permanent magnets in different configurations

In a magnetic heat pump system, in which heat transport medium is heated or cooled by magnetocaloric effect material accommodated in a magnetic heat pump device. A material having a coefficient of thermal conductivity, which is higher than that of the heat transport medium, or a material having a specific heat or a volume specific heat, which is higher than that of the heat transport medium, is mixed in the heat transport medium. A coefficient of thermal conductivity of the heat transport medium is thereby increased so as to increase heating and/or cooling performance of the magnetic heat pump system.

A magneto-caloric effect type heat pump apparatus includes a magneto-caloric element which generates heat when an external magnetic field is applied to and which absorbs heat when the external magnetic field is removed from; a magnetic field switcher which switches the applying and the removal of the external magnetic field from each other; a pump pumping a heat transport medium between a low-temperature end and a high-temperature end of the magneto-caloric element; and an auxiliary heat source device which supplies heat of a heating element to the magneto-caloric element.

A thermo-magnetic cycle apparatus includes: a magnetic element having a Curie temperature distribution in a distribution direction. A magnetic-field supplier supplies an external magnetic field to the magnetic element. A pump pumps heat transport medium to flow forward and backward in the distribution direction. The heat transport medium transports heat of the magnetic element. A shift device causes a position of a high temperature end and/or a low temperature end of the magnetic element to move.

A thermo-magnetic engine apparatus includes a magnetic element having a high temperature end to which hot energy is supplied and a low temperature end to which cold energy is supplied, a magnetic-field applier device, and a power source device. Curie temperature of the magnetic element is set between a temperature of the high temperature end and a temperature of the low temperature end. The power source device gains a magnetic power generated between the magnetic element and the magnetic-field applier device as kinetic energy.

A cogeneration system includes a fuel evaporator; an internal combustion engine which outputs mechanical energy by combusting fuel evaporated by the fuel evaporator; an electric energy generator that converts the mechanical energy to an electric energy; a cold energy recovery portion which recovers cold energy generated when the fuel evaporator evaporates the fuel; an exhaust heat recovery portion which recovers heat exhausted from the engine; and a gas cleaner that cleans nitrogen oxides contained in gas exhausted from the engine. When the fuel is supplied to the gas cleaner, the fuel reduces the nitrogen oxides by reacting with the nitrogen oxides.

Cogeneration system

A cooling device has a case defining a first space through which a first fluid flows and a second space through which a second fluid having the temperature lower than that of the first fluid flows. A first heat exchanger is disposed in the first space for performing heat exchange between the first fluid and a refrigerant, thereby to evaporate the refrigerant. A second heat exchanger is disposed in the second space for performing heat exchange between the second fluid and the refrigerant evaporated in the first heat exchanger, thereby to transfer heat of the refrigerant to the second fluid. The case defines a first dimension in a first direction and a second dimension in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction in a transverse cross-section. The second dimension is larger than the first dimension. The first space and the second space are arranged in the second direction.

A seat air duct includes a floor duct fixed to the floor surface of vehicle cabin and flexible ducts. The upper wall of the floor duct is partially formed by flexible slide walls. The flexible slide walls are formed in an accordion and stretch and contract to follow a front-back stroke of a front seat. The flexible ducts stretch and contract to follow a vertical stroke of the front seat. In this way, since the flexible slide walls and the flexible ducts are independently provided, the seat air-conditioning unit effectively follows the front-back and vertical strokes of the passenger seat, thereby improving a seat air-conditioning performance.

A temperature measuring apparatus measures the temperature of a medium according to the propagation time of ultrasonic waves propagated for a predetermined distance through the medium. The apparatus has a transmitter 11, 12 for transmitting ultrasonic waves having a fixed frequency at predetermined timing and a receiver 13, 14, 15 for receiving the ultrasonic waves and providing a received signal. A delay time detector 24 detects, in response to the received signal, a delay time between the transmission and reception of the ultrasonic waves and a wave number calculator 21 calculates an integral wave number according to the delay time and a period of the ultrasonic waves. A phase difference detector 25 detects a phase difference between the transmitted and received ultrasonic waves modulating the received signal with a frequency that is sufficiently higher than the frequency of the ultrasonic waves. An operation unit 21 calculates the propagation time of the ultrasonic waves according to the wave number and phase difference, and according to the propagation time, the temperature of the medium. This apparatus has a wide range of measurable temperatures, and is capable of precisely measuring the temperature of a wide area of a medium.

Ultrasonic temperature measuring apparatus

A dehumidifying apparatus with an electronic refrigeration unit includes a thermoelectric unit, a DC power source, and absorbing and liberating heat exchangers. The thermoelectric unit includes a plurality of N-type thermoelectric elements, heat absorbing electrodes, P-type thermoelectric elements, and heat liberating electrodes electrically connected in series. The DC power source supplies DC current to the N-type and P-type thermoelectric elements serially connected through the heat absorbing and heat liberating electrodes. The absorbing and liberating heat exchanger are integrated with the heat absorbing and liberating electrodes, respectively. A heat liberating surface of the liberating heat exchanger is formed at a position different from the absorbing heat exchanger. The absorbing and liberating heat exchangers include heat absorbing and liberating fins, respectively. A notch is formed in one side of each of the heat liberating fins so that a part of a heat absorbing fin fits the notch. The heat absorbing fins are set in a position corresponding to a notch of a corresponding heat liberating fin so that a part of the heat absorbing fin overlaps a part of the heat liberating fin. The overlapped portions are used for the heat absorbing and heat liberating electrodes.

Dehumidifying apparatus with electronic refrigeration unit

A thermoelectric transducer apparatus comprises a group of thermoelectric elements having N-type elements and P-type elements alternately arranged in a single line and a number of alternately arranged heat-absorbing-type and heat-liberating-type plate electrodes to electrically and serially connect said N- and P-type elements. Each of said heat-absorbing-type plate electrodes is extended to form a pair of integral heat-absorbing heat exchanger plates projecting in a direction from said group of elements, said pair of heat-absorbing heat exchanger plates having a pair of first plane areas extending in parallel with the group of elements and oppositely from each other and a pair of second plane areas extending from the respective first plane areas to leave the groups of elements, the outer surface of each of said second plane areas of each heat-absorbing heat exchanger plate being respectively bonded to the adjacent second plane areas of the neighboring heat-absorbing heat exchanger plates by means of insulating adhesive agent. Each of said heat-liberating-type plate electrodes has a pair of first plane areas and a pair of second plane areas all similar to those of each heat-absorbing p-type plate electrode. First and second partition walls for separating the cooled and coolant fluids of the thermoelectric transducer apparatus are formed by serially connecting the first plane areas of said heat-absorbing heat exchanger plates and those of said heat-liberating heat exchanger plates.

Thermoelectric transducer apparatus comprising N- and P-type

A thermoelectric converter has a N-type thermoelectric element, a P-type thermoelectric element, an endothermic electrode and a radiative electrode. One surface of the N-type thermoelectric element is attached to one surface of the endothermic electrode and the other surface is attached to one surface of the radiative electrode. One surface of the P-type thermoelectric element is attached to the other surface of the radiative electrode and the other surface is attached to the other endothermic electrode.
