A molding apparatus includes a mold having a long cavity; a pinching member that holds a long metal plate having a pair of longitudinal ends, a pair of lateral ends and a pair of surfaces forming a plate shape by pinching the long metal member, the long metal plate being inserted into the cavity such that the longitudinal direction of the long metal plate is directed to a longitudinal direction of the cavity and the long metal plate is positioned at a position offset from a center of the cross-section of the circumferential surface; and an inlet for pouring a resin material into a space defined between the mold and the pinching member, wherein a shape of the space is such that the amounts of the resin material to be poured around the each side of the pair of surfaces of the long metal plate are equivalent.

A fixing device includes a heat source, a roller being heated by the heat source, an endless belt that contacts the roller and rotates along with a rotation of the roller, a guiding portion that includes a first resin member being disposed inside the endless belt and guiding a rotation of the endless belt, a pressing portion that includes a second resin member being disposed inside the endless belt and pressing the endless belt on the roller, and a plate member that includes an elongated metal member of which the longitudinal direction is arranged to be parallel to a rotation axis of the roller, a first end and a second end of the elongated metal member in the transverse direction being unified with the first resin member and the second resin member, respectively, wherein the elongated metal member has a part facing the inner surface of the endless belt.

Fixing device and image forming apparatus

A fixing device includes a heat source, a roller heated by the heat source; an endless belt rotating with the roller; a plate member arranged inside the endless belt; a pressing member attached to one end of the plate member in a lateral direction of the plate member such that a longitudinal direction of the pressing member runs along the longitudinal direction of the plate member, and pressing the endless belt against the roller; and a guide portion including a long member, and attached to the other end of the plate member in a lateral direction of the plate member such that a longitudinal direction of the long member runs along the longitudinal direction of the plate member, and each of the plural ribs fixed to only one of the pressing member and the long member and extending toward another one of the pressing portion and the long member.

The present invention aims to allow production of a molded item having a highly precise shape. A molding metal mold is provided having a movable metal mold (first metal mold) and a fixed metal mold (second metal mold) defining a cavity therebetween in which a molded item is produced. The movable metal mold has a first convex taper tapering toward the fixed metal mold. The fixed metal mold has a first concave taper fittable with the first convex taper. The first convex taper and the first concave taper are arranged so that, when fitted to each other, respective taper surface abut to each other first, and then a clamping force of the movable metal mold and the fixed metal mold causes an abutting between an end surface and a bottom surface which are respective parting surfaces of the movable metal mold and the fixed metal mold around the cavity. The molding metal mold is used to produce a molded item by means of injection molding, for example.
