A facsimile apparatus has a lower structure and an upper structure which is swingable between a raised open position an a lowered close position about a pivot located at a lower part of the rear end portion of the apparatus. A thermal print head is fixed to the front end portion of the upper structure. A recording medium conveyor roller is fixed to the front end portion of the lower structure. A linear image sensor and an original sheet conveyor roller are fixed to a central portion of the lower structure. The recording medium is placed on the lower structure at a position between the thermal print head and the linear image sensor.

Facsimile apparatus

A facsimile apparatus has a lower structure and an upper structure which is swingable between a raised open position an a lowered closed position about a pivot located at a lower part of the rear end portion of the apparatus. A thermal print head is fixed to the front end portion of the upper structure. A recording medium conveyor roller is fixed to the front end portion of the lower structure. A linear image sensor and an original sheet conveyor roller are fixed to a central portion of the lower structure. The recording medium is placed on the lower structure at a position between the thermal print head and the linear image sensor.

A helical scan tape apparatus including a first pair of magnetic heads having mutually different azimuth angles disposed on a peripheral face of a rotary drum at an angle interval of 180 degrees so as to oppose each other, a second pair of magnetic heads disposed on of the rotary drum so as to be perpendicular to a disposition direction of the first magnetic heads, a magnetic tape helically wound around the rotary drum so as to extend over an angle of 90 degrees, the tape being moved while the drum is controlled to rotate in synchronism with a reference signal, the first magnetic heads having a wider gap width than a track pitch of tracks recorded on the tape without providing a guard band for enabling azimuth recording of a data signal on the tracks, the data signal being recorded repeatedly into a particular recording area, wherein the first magnetic heads are used substantially for recording and the second magnetic heads are used substantially for reproduction and are positioned with a downward shift in the height direction of the drum equivalent to half of a scanning width of the second magnetic heads as compared with said first magnetic heads. Alternatively, the second magnetic heads may be disposed with a predetermine amount of shift so that an end of said second magnetic heads opposite to a tape traveling direction is located within a track recorded in advance by a predetermined value.

The present invention relates to a magnetic recording and reproducing device wherein reproduction monitoring can be made directly after recording, and more particularly to a construction of a rotary drum for the same. The magnetic recording and reproducing device includes a single recording channel for n recording magnetic heads, and n reproducing channels for n reproducing magnetic heads. The recording channel is provided either on an innermost circumference side or on an outermost circumference side of a rotary transformer. Since the device has such a reduced number of recording channels, the distance between adjacent channels can be increased and the transmission loss of a reproduction signal can be reduced.

Rotary drum apparatus for a magnetic recording and reproducing device

A magnetic head suitable for use in a magnetic disk. In a magnetic head in accordance with the present invention, a read/write head and an erase head are placed side by side in the rotation direction of the magnetic disk. A gap in the read/write head is placed at a distance of l from a pair of gaps in the erase head. In addition, the read/write gap in the read/write head is deviated by a distance L in the external circumference direction with respect to a pair of erase gaps in the erase head.

A tracking servo system for a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus uses a flexible magnetic disk having thereon at least first, second and third tracks each of which includes a data track portion and a pair of servo track portions located on both sides of the data track portion. Tracking signals having different frequencies are recorded on the first, second and third servo track pairs. Servo and data heads are formed in a unitary structure. When the data head records an information signal on the second data track portion or reads out the recorded information signal therefrom, the servo head reads out the tracking signals recorded on the first and third servo track portions.

Tracking servo system for magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus

A disc cassette (11) for containing a disc (18) for rotation equipped with a shutter (14a, 14b) for opening and closing head windows (13) in slot form. The shutter automatically opens when the disc cassette is mounted on a cassette drive apparatus and automatically closes when it is removed therefrom. The shutter is mounted in center openings (15a, 15b) of the disc cassette for rotation therearound and has locked to one end portion thereof a movable belt (22) which causes the shutter to rotate when it moves. The movable belt has fastened thereto a spring (29, 50) for moving the belt in sliding movement to close the shutter at all times when the disc cassette is removed from the cassette drive apparatus.

Disc cassette (disc cartridge)

A tape drive device in which a cavity is formed in a reel hub provided for supplying or taking up a tape-shaped information recording and reproducing medium such as a magnetic tape or a film. A motor including a rotor unit and a stator unit is partly or wholly received within the cavity of the reel hub, and the rotating force generated by the rotor part of the motor is transmitted directly or through a reduction gearing to the reel hub to cause rotation of the reel hub.
