A long and narrow shape independent ignition type ignition apparatus has a long and narrow shape center core for an internal combustion engine. At least one of magnet member and a rubber material member is arranged at an end portion of the center core. A circumference of the center core including said magnet member and said rubber material member is surrounded using a soft material member.

Ignition coil for use in engine and engine having plastic cylinder head cover

To improve an anti-heat shock performance and an electric field concentration relaxation (an insulation performance) between a secondary coil and a center core, to attain a narrow diameter structure in an individual ignition type ignition coil and further to improve an assembling working of the ignition coil. The individual ignition type ignition coil is adopted to an engine having a plastic head cover. A secondary coilis positioned at an inner side of a primary coiland between a secondary bobbinand a center corea soft epoxy resinis filled up. In the secondary bobbin, a secondary coil low voltage side is a potting side of the soft epoxy resinand an inclination having a difference in an inner diameter is provided on the inner diameter in which the secondary coil low voltage side is formed large and secondary coil high voltage side is formed small. In the secondary bobbin, a thickness in the secondary coil low voltage side is formed thin and a thickness in the secondary coil high voltage side is formed thick. The soft epoxy resinhas a dent' according to a compression molding and has a glass transition point Tg which satisfies a condition of [an allowable stress of the secondary bobbin &#x3e; a generation stress at (from &#x2212;40&#xb0; C. to a glass transition point of an insulation resin)]. The secondary bobbin is formed by PPS and the primary bobbin is set to the primary coil at outer side of the secondary assembling body and under an assembling condition the winding is carried out.

An individual ignition type ignition coil is adopted to an engine having a plastic head cover. A secondary coil is positioned at an inner side of a primary coil and between a secondary bobbin and a center core a soft epoxy resin is filled up. The soft epoxy resin hash a dent according t a compression molding and has a glass transition point Tg which satisfies a specified condition. The secondary bobbin is formed by PPS and the primary bobbin is set to the primary coli at outer side of the secondary assembling body and under an assembling condition the winding is carried out.

The secondary bobbin is formed by PPS and the primary bobbin is set to the primary coil at outer side of the secondary assembling body and under an assembling condition the winding is carried out.

Ignition coil unit for engine and engine provided with plastic head cover

An ignition apparatus is received in a plug hole which is formed by a cylinder head and a cylinder head cover of an internal combustion engine. A side core has a slit between two horizontally extending side wall ends. The side core is selected from a laminated sheet structure comprised of two grain oriented silicon steel sheets, each having a slit between two horizontally extending side wall ends, and the plural slits align at substantially the same position. The slit prevents a one-turn short of a magnetic flux of the side core. Thereby a predetermined secondary voltage more than an engine requirement secondary voltage is obtained. An ignitor reception portion has an independent and individual ignitor reception portion and an independent and individual coil reception portion, with the ignitor reception portion and the coil reception portion being combined.

Ignition apparatus for use in internal combustion engine

An ignition coil comprises a center magnetic core, a secondary coil wound on a secondary coil bobbin which is arranged at an outer side of said center magnetic core, a primary coil wound on a primary coil bobbin which is arranged at an outer side of said secondary coil. At least one of said secondary coil bobbin and said primary coil bobbin is formed by a, material which contains sulfur in a main chain of an aromatic class. The ignition coil has a superior anti-electric treeing. A coil component of the secondary coil and the primary coil of the ignition coil is arranged and accommodated in a coil case, an epoxy resin filling up at least melting silica is potted and is hardened. A development of the electric treeing can be restrained and the ignition coil having a superior endurance performance can be provided.

Ignition coil for use in internal combustion engine

An ignition coil comprises a center magnetic core, a secondary coil wound on a secondary coil bobbin which is arranged at an outer side of said center magnetic core, a primary coil wound on a primary coil bobbin which is arranged at an outer side of said secondary coil. At least one of said secondary coil bobbin and said primary coil bobbin is formed by a material which contains sulfur in a main chain of an aromatic class. The ignition coil has a superior anti-electric treeing. A coil component of the secondary coil and the primary coil of the ignition coil is arranged and accommodated in a coil case, an epoxy resin filling up at least melting silica is potted and is hardened. A development of the electric treeing can be restrained and the ignition coil having a superior endurance performance can be provided.

A small-sized heat resisting high voltage transformer and an ignition transformer using the high voltage transformer are provided and utilize both a heat resistant casting resin and a bobbin, which contain an inorganic filler. The high voltage transformer is capable of producing an output voltage of 10-35 kV and comprises a primary coil, a secondary coil, and a magnetic core, wherein a casting resin is injected into the coil part and subsequently cured. The casting resin and bobbin material used for making the coils have heat distortion temperature of at least 130&deg; C., and contain an inorganic filler. The surface of the bobbin may be pretreated. Thereby, adhesion between a bobbin and a casting resin is enhanced to ensure operating properly under the sever heat cycle condition and provide a small-sized heat resistant high voltage transformer.

High voltage transformer and ignition transformer using the same

In order to reduce the bulk and weight of the upper igniter case division of the armor case, and to lower the center of gravity of the total apparatus so as to provide an igniter which is tough to oscillate, the igniter for the internal combustion engine has the armor case equipped with the coil department and igniter unit therein, and said armor case has the igniter case having the coil department case and the connector department. Furthermore, the coil department case is inserted in the plug hole of the internal combustion engine. The igniter unit is mounted in the igniter case. Furthermore, the igniter unit has a semiconductor device of a simple substance silicon chip having integrated therein a semi-conductor for switching and a current limiting circuitry. The semi-conductor for switching consists of an insulated bipolar transistor (IGBT) or a power transistor.

Igniter for internal combustion engine having outer packing case

In order to reduce the bulk and weight of the upper igniter case division of an armor case, and to lower the center of gravity of the total apparatus so as to provide an igniter which is tough to oscillate, the igniter for the internal combustion engine has the armor case equipped with a coil compartment and igniter unit. The armor case has the igniter case having the coil case and connector. Furthermore, the coil compartment case is inserted in the plug hole of the internal combustion engine. The igniter unit is mounted in the igniter case. Furthermore, the igniter unit has a semiconductor device of a single substance silicon chip having integrated therein a semi-conductor for switching and a current limiting circuitry. The semi-conductor for switching consists of an insulated bipolar transistor (IGBT) or a power transistor.

A cylindrical type ignition apparatus housed in a spark plug hole of a cylinder of an internal combustion engine is disclosed. A center core, a primary coil, a secondary core and a side core are provided, and a closed magnetic path is formed by connecting magnetically the center core and the side core by a core on a high voltage side and a core on a low voltage side, or a semi-closed magnetic path is formed by connecting magnetically the center core and the side core by a core on a low voltage side.

Ignition apparatus for an internal combustion engine

A distributor for H.T. electrical voltage in an internal combustion engine has a base (2) supporting a cap (60). A shaft (1) arranged to rotate in synchronism with the engine rotation drives an apertured rotating plate (8) which is positioned between a light transmitter and a light receiver forming a signal detection unit (15). Signals from the signal detection unit (15) are outputted via a connector (51). The distributor has an H.T. voltage distribution portion formed by a rotor (14), contacts (20,22) and rotor contact (21). The H.T. voltage portion of the distributor is separated from the signal detection unit (15) by an inverted cup-shaped insulating cover (17) located substantially inside the cap (60). The cover (17) is sealed to the base by an annular seal (18) and to the cap by an annular seal (19). A further seal (82) which is preferably integral with the seal (18) is located about the connector (51) and seals the cover (17) to the connector (51). A ventilation hole (71) may be provided through the cover to vent the H.T. voltage distribution portion to the exterior of the distributor.

An ignition coil in which an ignition coil is incorporated in a distributor housing is characterized in that the ignition coil has an annular core, and is disposed in the distributor housing so that the annular core surrounds a distributor-shaft support portion of the housing.

Ignition coil-incorporated distributor for internal combustion engines

A distributor for an internal combustion engine has a housing, a shaft inserted in the housing, a head mounted on the shaft, a cap attached to the housing so as to cover the rotor head, a signal detector accommodated in the housing, a connector projecting outside the housing, and an ignition coil accommodated in the housing. The housing has a cut-out portion formed in a side wall thereof from an abutment between the cap and the housing and extending toward the bottom of the housing for receiving the connector, and the cap and the connector are tightly engaged with the housing through a gasket. Silicon rubber is charged in the gap between the housing and the ignition coil. A heat release plate may be provided between the housing and the signal detector so that a path formed by the plate and the housing and surrounding a section of the core is electrically cut off, whereby no current flows in the path.
