A power transmission belt having a body with a length, an inside, an outside, and laterally spaced sides. The body has a bonding rubber layer in which elongate load carrying cords are embedded to extend lengthwise of the body. The body has a first layer on the inside of the bonding rubber layer in which a plurality of laterally spaced ribs are formed extending lengthwise of the body, and a second layer on the outside of the bonding rubber layer in which a plurality of laterally spaced ribs are formed extending lengthwise of the body. The bonding rubber layer has a sulfur-crosslinked rubber composition including an ethylene-&agr;-olefin elastomer. At least one of the first and second layers has a crosslinking product that is an organic peroxide-crosslinked rubber composition including an ethylene-&agr;-olefin elastomer.

A transfer belt for use on an electrostatographic duplicator. The belt has a body defining an image transfer surface. The body is made up of a rubber composition including a combination of epichlorohydrin-ethyleneoxide copolymer and hydrogenated nitrile rubber, to which a metallic salt of an unsaturated carboxylic acid and an organic peroxide are added.

Transfer belt for use in an electrostatographic duplicator

A belt for conveying articles, which belt has a body having a surface against which articles are placed to be frictionally held and thereby conveyed as the belt is advanced in operation. The belt body surface is defined by rubber and a porous filler in the rubber. The porous filler is present in the rubber in an amount of at least 5 parts by weight of porous filler per 100 parts by weight of rubber.

Belt for frictionally conveying articles

A rubber composition including chloroprene rubber, 1-20 weight parts of at least one metal oxide chosen from the group consisting of zinc oxide and magnesium oxide per 100 weight parts of chloroprene rubber, 0.05-2.0 weight parts of a vulcanization accelerator, such as ethylene thiourea, per 100 weight parts of chloroprene rubber, 0.1-10.0 weight parts, and more preferably 0.5-5.0 weight parts, of bismaleimide per 100 weight parts of chloroprene rubber, and 0.1-3.0 weight parts of at least one vulcanization accelerator chosen from among the group consisting of thiazole vulcanization accelerators, thiuram vulcanization accelerators, and sulfenamide vulcanization accelerators per 100 weight parts of chloroprene rubber.

Rubber composition and belt for a power transmission

A toothed belt having a body with a length, laterally spaced sides, an inside and an outside, and defining a plurality of teeth spaced in a lengthwise direction on one of the inside and the outside of the body. The body is defined at least in part by a rubber composition made up of at least an ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) and a diene rubber. A cloth layer is provided on the teeth on the one of the inside and the outside of the body. The cloth layer is treated with a resorcin-formalin-latex solution.

Toothed conveying belt

A power transmission belt having a belt body with a length, an inside, an outside, a backing layer, a plurality of longitudinally extending teeth, and a land surface between adjacent teeth facing in one of an inside and outside direction. At least one longitudinally extending cord is provided on the belt body. The distance between the land surface and the load carrying cord between the inside and outside of the belt is between 0.30 and 0.50 mm. The distance between the land surface and the center of the load carrying cord between the inside and outside of the belt is between 0.73 and 0.85 mm.

Toothed power transmission belt

A power transmission belt having a belt body with an inside surface and an outside surface, with the belt body having a compression section and a tension section, spaced outside of the compression section. At least a first part of the tension section is defined by a chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber composition having a chlorine content of 15 to 30% by weight. At least a second part of the compression section is defined by a rubber composition that is different than the rubber composition of the first part.

Toothed belt

A power transmission belt having improved service life in high and low temperature environments is disclosed. The power transmission belt includes a compressed rubber layer of a low density chlorosulfonated polyethylene having a straight-chain molecular structure which is formed so that the chlorine content is within the range of about 15 to about 35% by weight. The chlorosulfonated polyethylene can have a sulfur content in the range of about 0.5 to about 2.5% by weight. A magnesium oxide-aluminum oxide solid solution can be admixed with the chlorosulfonated polyethylene. The power transmission belt can also include an adhesion rubber layer made of a chloroprene rubber composition or a hydrogenated acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber composition with at least one tension member at least partially embedded therein.

Power transmission belt

A power transmission belt wherein at least a portion thereof is formed as a composite of 1 to 100 parts by weight of whiskers distributed in 100 parts by weight of rubber. The composite may form the compression section of the belt. The composite may be utilized as impregnating rubber for a fabric cover portion of the belt. The whiskers preferably have a diameter in the range of approximate 0.1 micron to 1.0 micron, and a length of approximately 10 microns to 500 microns. In the illustrated embodiment, the whiskers are acicular single crystal whiskers.
