A vehicle seat device capable of providing a space in which a large sized load can be disposed. A seat device is provided with a left rear seat and a right rear seat arranged next to each other in the vehicle width direction, and also with a left front movement device for moving the left rear seat to a left foot space located in front of the left rear seat. The left rear seat having been moved to the left foot space is moved through a lateral slide rail up to a right foot space located in front of the right rear seat.

Vehicle seat device

There is disclosed a seat that comprises a trim cover including a sheet of covering material and a wadding layer, a padding member covered with the cover, a seating surface section formed by a portion of the cover and a portion of the padding member, and electric or electronic equipment, the equipment including planar equipment bodies and accessories, the wadding layer including a first wadding member laminated onto the entire sheet, and second wadding members formed separately from the first wadding member and mounted to predetermined regions of the portion of the padding member which forms the seating surface section in cooperation with the portion of the cover, the bodies being disposed on the second wadding members, and the padding member being covered by the cover in such a manner that the second wadding members having the bodies disposed thereon are combined with the first wadding member.

Seat provided with electric or electronic equipment

An attaching structure for a seatbelt apparatus of a vehicle equipped with a seat, which is supported by a vehicle body through a weight sensor. The seatbelt apparatus includes a buckle, a seatbelt, and a tang. The buckle is fixed to one side of the seat of the vehicle. One end of the seatbelt is fixed at the vehicle so that it allows a length adjustment of the seatbelt, and the other end of the seatbelt is connected to an anchor that is fixed to the other side of the seat. The tang is provided at the seatbelt and is engaged with the buckle so as to hold an occupant to the seat. Here, the anchor and the buckle are fixed at a position higher than the weight sensor.

Attaching structure for a seatbelt apparatus

A seat position detection unit which has a movable member, a stationary member, an attaching member, a position sensor, and a detecting object. In this seat position detection unit, the movable member is attached to a bottom of a seat and is put together with the stationary member so that the movable member is allowed to slide along the stationary member. The position sensor and the detecting object to be detected by the position sensor are provided to the stationary member and the movable member, separately. Here, the stationary member is attached to a floor through the attaching member. One of the position sensor and the detecting object that is attached to the stationary member and the mounting member are provided as a single piece.

Seat position detection unit

An occupant detection system, includes a sensor, a controller, a base frame, and a heat insulator. In this occupant detection system, the sensor measures a weight of an occupant sitting on the vehicle seat. The controller detects a presence of the occupant on the vehicle seat. The base frame is fixed to one of a vehicle seat or a vehicle body and accommodates the sensor. The heat insulator is provided on the base frame and prevents a heat transfer between the base frame and the sensor.

An occupant position detection system includes a distance sensor located on a seat back of a seat of a vehicle, an angle sensor for sensing an inclined angle of the seat back , and a sliding displacement sensor for sensing a sliding displacement value of the seat in fore and aft directions, wherein an occupant position is detected on the basis of sensed values of the distance sensor , the angle sensor and the sliding displacement sensor

Occupant position detection system

A sheet-shaped sensor body includes a first protective layer formed of a resist paste layer, an antenna film formed of a PET film, a first conductive layer formed of a silver layer, a second conductive layer formed of a carbon layer, a second protective layer formed of a resist paste layer and a hot-melt film, which are laminated one on another in sequence. When the hot-melt film of the sensor body is brought into abutment against a front surface of a wadding previously adhered to a pad of a seat back and is then heat-pressed, the sensor body is fixed firmly and reliably to the wadding by an adhesive force generated by the melted hot-melt film once it again cools and solidified. Thus, the sensor of an occupant detecting system for detecting the physical constitution and the attitude of an occupant sitting on a seat can be fixed easily and reliably to the seat back.

Occupant detecting system

A passenger detecting system includes a plurality of antenna electrodes provided in a seat, a signal generating section, a detecting section, a switching circuit and a control unit. The signal generating section generates an electrode signal. The switching circuit sequentially supplies the electrode signal to the plurality of antenna electrodes one by one in response to a switching control signal. The detecting section detects change of the electrode signal to generate a detection signal when the electrode signal is supplied to each of the plurality of antenna electrodes. The control unit outputs the switching control signal to the switching circuit and generates a passenger data associated with a passenger on the seat based on the detection signal for each of the plurality of antenna electrodes.

Passenger detecting system and air bag system using the same

A high-frequency generating circuit is connected to six electrode fabrics embedded in a seat back of an assistant driver's seat. Output current flowing at the time when a human body approaches the electrode fabrics is detected. It is determined whether an occupant is an adult or a child, by comparing patterns of the output current which correspond to the six electrode fabrics with a first threshold value and a second threshold value to detect the positions of the head, neck and shoulder of the occupant. When the occupant is a child having a short sitting height, the operation of an air bag device is prohibited upon collision of a vehicle, and a warning lamp is lit to move the occupant to a rear seat.

A passenger detection system for precisely detecting the sitting condition of a passenger occupying a seat, who leans against the seat supporting section, and for suitably controlling the deployment/non-deployment of the side airbag based on the results of the detection process. The system comprises a seat having a seat supporting section in which an antenna electrode is provided; a voltage generation device for generating a high-frequency and low-voltage signal which induces a weak electric field around the antenna electrode; a current detection section for detecting a current which flows according to the generated weak electric field; and a control circuit for detecting a leaning condition of the passenger against the seat supporting section, based on a signal output from the current detection section; and an airbag apparatus including a side airbag unit positioned close to a door, the apparatus having a function of deploying the side airbag unit when a collision occurs. Data representing results detected by the control circuit is sent to the airbag apparatus so as to set the side airbag unit to one of the deployable and non-deployable states.

If a seat belt is not fastened, then a first switch is turned on and a second switch is turned off, and a fastened status detector outputs an impact decision level signal to a switch, which selects a signal from a first impact decision level output unit. Thus, when the speed of a motor vehicle is about 16 km/h or higher immediately prior to a collision, an air bag is inflated upon the collision. If the seat belt is fastened, then the first switch is turned off and the second switch is turned on, and the fastened status detector outputs an impact decision level signal, selecting a signal from a second impact decision level output unit. Thus, when the speed of the motor vehicle is about 24 km/h or higher immediately prior to a collision, the air bag is inflated upon the collision. If both the first and second switches are turned on or off due to a failure, the fastened status detector outputs the impact decision level signal, inflating the air bag when the vehicle speed of the motor vehicle immediately prior to a collision becomes greater than about 16 km/h, as is the case with the seat belt being not fastened. Even when the fastened state of the seat belt cannot be detected, therefore, vehicle occupants are protected safely by a vehicle occupant protection system.

An automotive seat comprises a seat back and a seat cushion, the seat cushion having a cushioned padding, a covering sheet covering front and middle sections of the cushioned padding, sides cover covering both side sections of the cushioned padding, and a back cover covering a rear section of the cushioned padding, the back cover formed into a predetermined three-dimensional shape utilizing a sheet of fiber impregnated with thermoelastic synthetic resin, the back cover having a body of a substantially C-shape in section and mounting sections provided at both sides of the C-shaped body, each of the mounting sections laminated with a sheet of hard felt serving as a reinforcement and having a through-hole, each of the side covers including a fastener having a body of a substantially square pole-shape projecting forwardly from a front surface of a rear section of the side cover and a pair of stopper pawls, said back covers disposed arranged between the side covers and secured to the side covers by causing fasteners to be press-fitted through through-holes of the mounting sections of the back cover, a terminal of the covering sheet sewed to an edge of an upper section of the C-shaped body of the back cover.

Automotive seat

A webbing height adjuster of the invention is formed of a movable member disposed on a guide rail on a vehicle to be slidable in the longitudinal direction; a lock pin disposed on the movable member to be movable in a direction of engaging and slipping off one of engaging portions of the guide rail; a control member slidably mounted on the movable member and having a pair of side walls to sandwich the lock pin; and a driven pin mounted on the lock pin to form a T-shape. Each of the side walls has a notching groove which opens in a direction of slipping of the lock pin from one of the engaging portions, and a cam face formed in the notching groove and engaging the driven pin. The control member controls the movement of the lock pin in the direction of engaging and slipping off by sliding relative to the movable member. The driven pin with the lock pin can be easily assembled with the movable member.

Webbing height adjuster

A webbing height adjuster of the present invention comprises a lock pin adjusting slider 3, a covering member 9 made of resin which is fixed to the lock pin adjusting slider 3, and a bolt 73 for supporting a slip anchor 75 which is fixed to the slider 3. A lock pin 5 is slidably inserted into an axial slot 41 of a column 40 of the covering member 9, and a lock pin biasing spring 7 is accommodated in the axial slot 41. The column 40 acts as a sliding guide of the lock pin 5. The column 40 is provided with a spring garnish mount portion 48 formed coaxially with the axial slot 41. The covering member 9 is provided with a guide groove 38 for guiding a lock pin control slider 10 pressing the lock pin 5. The guide groove 38 is formed integrally with the column 40. Therefore, the bolt can be manufactured in a simple structure at low cost and the thickness of the adjuster can be reduced.
