An image forming apparatus, having imaging units arranged alternately on both sides of a continuous paper web, is characterized by minimized image misregistration and reduced processing cost. In order to prevent possible color misregistration caused by changes in paper feed path length resulting from the eccentricity of each drive roller, the difference in the eccentric phases of the rollers on the front and back surfaces is controlled, thereby minimizing the difference in changes in paper feed path length.

Image forming apparatus for printing an image on both sides of a recording medium

When initially routing a continuous web along a path, the web walks across the width of the path, and uneven tension occurs causing the web to break in some cases when printing tension is applied thereto. Further, uneven web tension is produced on the right and left of the web by excessive walk control resulting from an excessive deviation of the web from the target position of a walk controller, with the result that the web is crumpled and broken. These problems are solved by maintaining a web tension that is lower than the printing tension until the web position converges on the target position of the walk controller after loading of the web, thereby reducing the amount of correction by the walk controller and the amount of web lost in the preparatory phase before printing, with the result that excellent image quality free from crumple or breakdown is ensured.

An image forming device and method utilizing an electrostatic latent image recording medium, developing units reserving different colors for developing images on the recording medium, a dryer for drying the developed images, and an adhesion reinforcer for enhancing adhesion of toner particles including electrostatically pressing dried toner particles against a front surface of the electrostatic latent image recording medium.

Method and apparatus for forming color image

An image forming apparatus has an endless belt which serves as an image carrier is characterized by reduced image misregistration and reduced machining cost. When the endless belt feed path is divided into a path from a drive roller to a tension roller, and a path from the tension roller to the drive roller, the eccentricity of an idle roller located on the path on the side including a latent image forming point is set to a value smaller than that of an idle roller located on the path not including the image forming point.

An image forming apparatus is provided in which a misregistration of an image forming-position due to a tension, acting on a continuous recording medium, and a fluctuation thereof, is corrected with a low-cost construction to provide an image of high quality. A pair of recording medium speed detection devices are provided upstream and downstream of an image forming section, respectively, and a misregistration correction amount is calculated from a detected recording medium feed speed so as to correct the image forming position.

In a magnetic head supporting apparatus having a second actuator for fine movement in addition to a first actuator having a voice coil motor for coarse movement, the second actuator is fixed so as to bridge the upper surface of a suspension and the upper surface of a suspension supporting member to support the suspension, and the second actuator is a plate-shaped structure which has two polarization regions separated by a non-polarized region and is formed by laminating piezoelectric flat plates in which the polarizing directions and the directions of electric fields to be applied are thickness directions. Thus, a magnetic disk apparatus which can be driven by a low voltage, a displacement in the vertical direction of the suspension is small, a productivity is high, and a recording density is high can be realized.

An image production apparatus includes at least one image production unit having a latent image forming device for forming a latent image on an image carrying member and a developing device for attaching toner to the latent image formed by the latent image forming device. A toner image formed by the image production unit is transferred to a transfer medium to produce an image. The image production apparatus further includes a periodicity giving device for giving periodicity to movement in a main scanning direction of the image carrying member or transfer medium. According to this periodicity, the movement time from an image forming position to a transfer position, or the movement time of a transfer medium between adjacent transfer positions is set equal to an integral multiple of the period.

An optical switch for switching an optical path of an input optical signal comprises a substrate composed of a silica glass substrate, a separation layer formed on the silica glass substrate, a plurality of cantilever beams and formed in parallel to one another on the separation layer and connected at their tip ends to a connection member, at least one silica glass optical waveguide core formed on the cantilever beams, a plurality of optical waveguide fixed in opposition to the silica glass optical waveguide core, a cover for covering the cantilever beams, and a switch drive unit for bending the cantilever beams. The switch drive unit comprises electromagnetic actuators, which comprise soft magnetic bodies formed on the connection member for the cantilever beams and on the substrate, soft magnetic yokes formed of a soft magnetic body, permanent magnets, and wire coils.

A light emitted from the supervisory light source is supplied to the input port of any one of a plurality of switching sections provided in the optical switching device. A light emitted from the output port of the switching section is converted into electric signals and then compared with the threshold value by a supervisory receiver. The supervisory control circuit discriminates the state of connection at each switching section in the optical switching device according to the compared result obtained by the supervisory receiver, whereby each switching section in the optical switching device is supervised.

In an optical switch for connecting optically a first optical fiber supported on a stationary supporting block to a second optical fiber supported on a movable supporting block being movable relative to the stationary supporting block between a first position for the optical connection between the terminating ends of the first and second optical fibers and a second position for disconnecting the optical connection therebetween and being adjacent to the stationary supporting block, and a magnetic flux generator for generating a magnetic flux for moving the movable supporting block relative to the stationary supporting block, the movable supporting block includes a soft magnetic substance so that the magnetic flux passes through the movable supporting block.

Optical switch

A rotating disk type information storage apparatus includes a rotating disk for storing information, a head for writing/reading the information, a support member for supporting the head, a first actuator for moving the support member to a predetermined position on the rotating disk, and a second actuator including a movable member supported by the support member and capable of being rotated about an axis perpendicular to a recording surface of the rotating disk, and a driving force generating member for rotating the movable member. The movable member is integrated with the support member and has the head mounted thereto, in which a center of gravity of the movable member including the mounted members generally coincides with the center of rotation of the movable member. The second actuator corrects an error in a positioning of the support member and positions the head, and the movable member is not vibrated during the positioning.

Rotating disk type information storage apparatus having a movable member

A facsimile apparatus has a lower structure and an upper structure which is swingable between a raised open position an a lowered close position about a pivot located at a lower part of the rear end portion of the apparatus. A thermal print head is fixed to the front end portion of the upper structure. A recording medium conveyor roller is fixed to the front end portion of the lower structure. A linear image sensor and an original sheet conveyor roller are fixed to a central portion of the lower structure. The recording medium is placed on the lower structure at a position between the thermal print head and the linear image sensor.

Facsimile apparatus

A facsimile apparatus has a lower structure and an upper structure which is swingable between a raised open position an a lowered closed position about a pivot located at a lower part of the rear end portion of the apparatus. A thermal print head is fixed to the front end portion of the upper structure. A recording medium conveyor roller is fixed to the front end portion of the lower structure. A linear image sensor and an original sheet conveyor roller are fixed to a central portion of the lower structure. The recording medium is placed on the lower structure at a position between the thermal print head and the linear image sensor.
