A radiation detector includes a Peltier device (electronic cooling unit) for cooling a radiation detecting element, and a heat releasing part of the Peltier device is in thermal contact with a cold finger (thermally conductive part). The cold finger is made of a material with higher thermal conductivity than that of the base, and penetrates the base. The heat from the radiation detecting element is conducted from the heat releasing part of the Peltier device to the cold finger, and is dissipated to an area outside of the radiation detector through the cold finger. As such, heat is efficiently dissipated from the radiation detecting element.

Radiation detector and radiation detection apparatus

A radiation detectorincludes a Peltier device (electronic cooling unit) for cooling a radiation detecting element, and the heat releasing part of the Peltier device is in thermal contact with a cold finger (thermally conductive part). The cold finger is made of a material with higher thermal conductivity than that of the base, and penetrates the base. The heat from the radiation detecting element is conducted from the heat releasing part of the Peltier device to the cold finger, and is dissipated to the outside of the radiation detector through the cold finger. As such, heat is efficiently dissipated from the radiation detecting element.

A radiation detector employed in a radiation detection apparatus and a fluorescent X-ray analyzer includes: a first circuit board on which a semiconductor radiation sensor is mounted and which is cooled by a Peltier device (an electronic cooling unit); and a second circuit board set apart from the first circuit board. A plurality of lead pins are joined to the second circuit board. Then, the first circuit board and the second circuit board are wire-bonded to each other. In comparison with conventional wire bonding performed onto the tips of lead pins, the work of connection is easy, the productivity is high, and the reliability of connection is high. Further, the second circuit board not requiring cooling is set apart so that cooling is concentrated on the first circuit board. This permits size reduction of the radiation detector.

Radiation detector, radiation detection apparatus, and X-ray analyzer

A slide type liquid sample quantity determiner is provided that may enable the whole of a quantity determining flow path to be surely filled with a liquid sample, and also a quantity determination time to be shortened. An upstream side capillary flow path, a quantity determining capillary flow path, and a downstream side capillary flow path are reduced in diameter in this order. When a slide body is at a liquid sample quantity determination position X, an upstream side opening of the quantity determining capillary flow path is contained in a downstream side opening of the upstream side capillary flow path, and an upstream side opening of the downstream side capillary flow path is contained in a downstream side opening of the quantity determining capillary flow path.

Liquid sample quantity determiner

The present invention is intended to, in a configuration in which a liquid container for analysis sealed by a sealing member is penetrated by a penetrating member, prevent the sealing member from being unexpectedly broken to leak a liquid for analysis. Also, the present invention has: a container holder part that holds a liquid container for analysis; a penetrating member that penetrates a sealing member of the liquid container for analysis; a first moving mechanism that enables the penetrating member to be moved between a hole making position and a receding position; and a second moving mechanism that enables the penetrating member moved to the hole making position by the first moving mechanism to be moved toward the sealing member to a penetrating position where the penetrating member penetrates the sealing member.

Body fluid analysis fixture

Not only a downsized cartridge but also an aperture constituted simply and at low cost using a downsized configuration of the cartridge is provided. A measurement channel includes a front-surface-side channel unit provided on a front surface of a cartridge main body; a rear-surface-side channel unit provided on a rear surface of the cartridge main body; and a connection channel unit connecting the front-surface-side channel unit to the rear-surface-side channel unit. An aperture is formed in the connection channel unit, a fluid contact unit of one electrode is arranged in the front-surface-side channel unit, and a fluid contact unit of the other electrode is arranged in the rear-surface-side channel unit.

Cell analysis cartridge

A surveillance system utilizing a plurality of communication devices that are operative with portable telephones to permit an easily reconfigurable remote surveillance area. The portable telephones can have audio and imaging transmitting functions and at least one has an audio and imaging receiving function. An image sensor can sense images within a predetermined area and is operatively connected to a portable telephone for providing an output signal upon detection of a predetermined amount of change in the image area. An auto-dialing section is connected to a first telephone for calling a second remote telephone automatically based on the output signal. Infrared detecting sensors can also image within the surveillance area and be utilized to activate the auto-dialing function. The portable telephones can further include an image sensor for providing an image of the surveillance area.

Communication device and auxiliary device for communication

A remote power switching system capable of detecting the emission of infrared thermal energy from a human body or other objects and automatically controlling a supply of power to electric equipment is provided. A controller unit having a switching unit capable of connecting to a source of power and controlling the output of power to a device that utilizes the power, incorporates a wireless receiver unit for receiving control signals to operate the switching unit. The controller unit can further include electronic prongs and electrical receptacles for providing a plug in connection for the device to be controlled. A remote controller that can be portable and of hand size has a first sensor unit for determining the presence of an object that intrudes within the predetermined zone. A transmitter unit can transmit a wireless signal when a control unit receives a signal from the first sensor unit. A second sensor unit can determine ambient light conditions which can also be considered by the control unit in determining the appropriateness of sending a wireless signal. Finally, control members can be used to delay the activation of the remote controller for a predetermined time period.

Remotely controlled power supply switching system

A useful pyroelectric infrared detector capable of cancelling noises and detecting dead angles, and accurately detecting a moving direction of a moving body is provided. Four sensing electrodes having an identical shape, area, and sensitivity are formed on a surface of a pyroelectric member in an L-shaped form, so that they are arranged to differ by 90 degrees in phase, respectively, but are symmetric about a center of rotation. The four sensing electrodes form two pairs of dual detecting elements so that output may be provided from the respective first and second dual elements I and II and be appropriately processed.
