A device for iontophoresis that reduces irritation at the beginning of energization and efficiently supplies an amount of current required for drug administration in a predetermined length of time, is provided. With the device for iontophoresis, the oscillation frequency and duty cycle of a transistorare adjusted at the beginning of energization, thereby controlling a back electromotive force developed across a coilto gradually increase the output voltage. The microcomputercontrols the transistorso as to receive signals from an output voltage detecting circuit that is formed of resistorsandand an output current detecting circuit that is formed of resistorsandand a capacitor, preventing an increasing of the output voltage when the detected output current reaches a limiting value, and preventing an increasing of the output current when the detected output voltage reaches a limiting value.

Device for iontophoresis

A transdermal or transmucosal drug delivery device excellent in terms of drug permeability and skin irritability and capable of reducing power consumption, is disclosed. An output control circuit () of an energization pattern controller () supplies a combined energization of pulse depolarized type energization and at least one of direct current type energization and pulse energization between an anode-side device () and a cathode-side device () of iontophoresis. The details of combination of energization in the output control circuit () is determined based on external setting of the energization pattern controller () or internal storage information.

Transdermal or transmucosal drug delivery device

This is an iontophoresis device preferred to detect abnormal conductivity at the beginning of energization and during energization. The iontophoresis device has a device () as a power source and the device () comprises an electric energy generating portion () generating electric energy, an output portion () outputting the electric energy, and an abnormal conductivity detecting portion () detecting whether or not the electric energy is supplied normally. The detecting action of the abnormal conductivity detecting portion () is carried out at the time of the non-output action of the output portion (). During the energization, the output action by the output portion () and the detecting action by the abnormal conductivity detecting portion () are alternated in response to a command received from the microcomputer ().

Iontophoresis device

An iontophoresis system comprises a power supply apparatus having a chargeable battery, a positive output terminal, a negative output terminal and a positive charge terminal, and a preparation having input terminals connected to output terminals of the power supply apparatus. The negative output terminal of the power supply apparatus also serves as a negative charge terminal for charging the battery. During charging, the preparation is removed, and terminals of a charger are connected to terminals of the power supply apparatus, respectively. The power supply apparatus comprises a power supply monitoring portion which gives a warning when a battery voltage becomes a predetermined value or lower and a control portion for controlling a power supply state from the output terminal.

Iontophoresis system

A handling-convenient device for iontophoresis, which can supply spotted regions suffering from disease with a proper quantity of current at the same time. The device for iontophoresis includes a power source apparatus having a plurality of output terminals outputting currents of predetermined values adjusted by a plurality of current control circuits, respectively, and a plurality of connecting cords, each cord being connected with one of the output terminals of the power source apparatus at one end thereof and being connected with an electrode structure at the other end. The connecting cords are attached with the power source apparatus in a mutually attachable/detachable fashion via connection terminals. The power source apparatus has an LED located thereon to notify of the energization status of the device and a power switch externally located thereon to control starts and stops of the apparatus.

Device for Iontophoresis

It is the object of the present invention to provide an iontophoresis device structure which has excellent contouring ability at its site of attachment, has very high safety, is of high quality with high product yields, and can be produced with fewer production steps to improve working efficiency and increase productivity to allow mass production at low cost. The iontophoresis device structure of the present invention has a construction provided with a cup-shaped support including a concave part, at least one electrification hole formed in the concave part, an electrode layer laid on the flat part of the rim of the concave part, and an electrolyte layer or drug-holding layer fitted into the concave part.
