A film forming apparatus comprises a film forming vessel comprising a first mold and a second mold that is arranged to be opposed to the first mold. The first mold is configured to include a first recessed portion and a first planar portion arranged around the first recessed portion and an exhaust port in a bottom portion of the first recessed portion. The film forming apparatus also comprises a seal member placed between the first planar portion of the first mold and the second mold. The seal member is configured to keep inside of the film forming vessel airtight; and an exhaust device connected with the exhaust port. The work is placed away from the first planar portion such that a film formation target part of the work faces an internal space of the first recessed portion when the film forming vessel is closed. A film forming method comprises (a) forming a film on part of the work by the film forming apparatus; (b) opening the film forming vessel after the (a); and (c) at a start of the (b), evacuating the film forming vessel via the exhaust port by the exhaust device.

Film forming method and film forming apparatus

A film forming apparatus configured to form a film on part of a work. The film forming apparatus comprises a film forming vessel comprising a first mold located above the work and a second mold located below the work to be opposed to the first mold. The first mold is configured to include a first recessed portion that is recessed upward viewed from a film formation target part of the work and a first planar portion arranged around the first recessed portion. The second mold is configured to include a second planar portion in a place opposed to the first planar portion. The film forming apparatus also comprises a first seal member located between the first planar portion and the work. The first seal member is configured to come into contact with the first planar portion and the work when the work is away from the first planar portion. The film forming apparatus further comprises a second seal member located between the second planar portion and the work. The second seal member is configured to come into contact with the second planar portion and the work when the work is away from the second planar portion. The second seal member is provided on a lower face of the work. This configuration suppresses poor film formation when the seal member is placed between the film forming vessel and the work.

A fuel cell separator is provided with an opening that functions as a manifold. A resin coating is formed within the peripheral area of the fuel cell separator, in a state where the power generation area is masked with a masking jig. Subsequently, the masking jig is removed, and a conductive coating is formed within the power generation area of the fuel cell separator, the peripheral area of which has been masked by the resin coating.

The fuel cell further includes a first cross-linking adhesive member formed of rubber which includes a membrane accommodating portion having an indented shape for accommodating the outer periphery portion of the electrolyte membrane and a first intermediate portion interposed between the pair of frames and which is subjected to cross-linking adhesion with the outer periphery portion of the electrolyte membrane and the pair of frames.

In fuel cell separator, the periphery of manifold through which fuel gas, reaction water, etc., pass and the seal line being a site of bonding with an adjacent separator are provided with a resin layer. Within the surface of the separator, the resin application site on which the resin layer is formed undergoes subbing treatment in advance to thereby increase the capability of bonding with the resin. When the resin layer consists of a resin having an NH group, as the subbing treatment, hydroxide deposition treatment is carried out on the surface of the separator.
