A tape loading device in a recording and/or reproducing apparatus which has a guide drum with heads for recording and/or reproducing signals onto a tape. A first belt is arranged along a first belt path which has a section extending between the guide drum and a cassette accommodating the tape. A second belt is arranged along a second belt path which has a section extending between the guide drum and the cassette. A driving mechanism drives the first and second belts so that each travels toward the guide drum during a tape loading mode and travels toward the cassette during a tape unloading mode. A pair of tape guide mechanisms are movable in response to the travel of the first and second belts for intercepting the tape within the cassette and for moving to predetermined positions in the vicinity of the guide drum during the tape loading mode to guide the tape at the predetermined positions. The tape travels along a predetermined tape path with respect to the guide drum. Guide paths guide the pair of tape guide mechanisms so that the tape guide mechanisms move along predetermined moving paths.

Tape loading device in a recording and/or reproducing apparatus

A tape recording and/or reproducing apparatus includes first and second motors for driving takeup and supply reels, respectively. The first motor is energized during fast forward mode to drive the takeup reel at a speed higher than the normal playback speed to feed the tape cassette from the supply reel to the takeup reel. The rotational speed of the supply reel, which is initially low and increases as a function of time, is sensed by a speed detector which develops a voltage proportional to the sensed speed. A comparator is provided to detect when the voltage reaches a predetermined value to complete a feedback control circuit to feed the voltage to the second motor. A counter torque is produced in the second motor to retard the torque produced by the first motor. By the feedback operation the supply reel is subsequently driven at a constant speed. The tape transport speed initially increases until the feedback control is effected and subsequently decreases as a function of time as the tape approaches its end to allow a tape stopping mechanism a sufficient time to operate before the tape end overruns the transducer head.

Tape recording reproducing apparatus having improved fast forward drive

An apparatus for rapidly and positively stopping the rotations of first and second tape reels which are driven independently, without introducing slack or damages to a recording medium of a tape form wound by the first and second tape reels. The control system for this apparatus uses digital signals.

Apparatus for stopping rotation of tape reels

A system for controlling the rotation of a rotating structure comprises a detector for detecting the rotation of the rotating structure a circuit for repeatedly forming address signals for every revolution of the rotating structure in response to a detection output from the rotation detector, a memory circuit in which control data responsive to deviations in the rotational peripheral speed of the rotating structure in each revolution thereof have been stored beforehand at addresses corresponding to the address signals, the address signals being supplied to the memory circuit, whereupon the data stored at the corresponding addresses are read out, and a control circuit for obtaining a control signal from the detection output of the rotation detector and the data thus read out from the memory circuit and accordingly controlling the rotation of the rotating structure.
