The present invention is directed to a sealing device for a rotary fluid machine having bearings which are disposed at opposite end portions in a shaft chamber and support a shaft, the sealing device being characterized by comprising a fluid seal of a fluid having a higher pressure than in the shaft chamber, the fluid seal being provided at a portion in the shaft chamber through which the shaft extends; usual dynamic pressure type bearings disposed in the middle of the fluid sealing device itself or in the vicinity of the middle thereof, the bearings being further received in a housing of the sealing device; and sealing members for partially confining a space defined between the housing and the bearings in an axial direction and a peripheral direction in order to form a closed loop; whereby the bearings are pressed downward by a differential pressure between a pressure of the fed fluid and a pressure in the outside of the shaft chamber so as to permit increasing the number of kinetic fulcrums for the shaft and to thereby heighten a safe speed of the shaft. According to the above constitution of the present invention, the fluid fed into the sealing device can be utilized effectively, and it can be realized to provide the highly efficient and inexpensive high-speed rotary fluid machine.

Sealing device for rotary fluid machine

A centrifugal compressor of the type in which disassembly and assembly of the compressor is effected by taking out and inserting internal component parts including end walls for closing ends of a cylindrical rotor chamber wall from and into a cylindrical rotor chamber in the axial direction thereof, including intake chamber side communication holes communicating with an intake chamber formed within the cylindrical rotor chamber and a propelling force balance chamber side communication hole communicating with a propelling force balance chamber formed within the cylindrical rotor chamber. The intake chamber side communication holes are formed in the internal component part and in the cylindrical rotor chamber wall, respectively. The propelling force balance chamber side communication holes are respectively provided in an inner axial end surface of the cylindrical rotor chamber wall and an end wall removably fitted in the cylindrical rotor chamber wall with a portion of the end wall abutting the inner axial end surface of the cylindrical rotor chamber wall. The intake chamber side communication hole and the propelling force balance chamber communication hole provided in the cylindrical rotor chamber wall are communicated with each other through a balance pipe mounted on an outer surface of the cylindrical rotor chamber wall.

Centrifugal compressor

A centrifugal compressor includes an impeller of a make-up (compressing) pump stage, a first balancing ring for generating axial thrust on an impellar shaft for balancing the axial thrust generated by the make-up pump stage, an impeller of a recycle stage and a second balancing ring disposed between the make-up pump stage and the recycle stage. The impellers and balancing rings are fixedly mounted on the same impellar shaft in a common casing. The diameters of the first and second balancing ring and a liner ring disposed at a suction side of the impeller of the recycle stage are substantially identical with each other.

In a sealing device for a rotary machine of the type that an annular groove is provided in an inner circumferential surface of a through-hole of a stationary member through which a rotary body supported rotatably by a bearing device extends, gap spaces between the rotary body and the both side portions of the stationary member on the opposite sides of the annular groove are sealed by seal rings, and a seal fluid feed hole for feeding a sealing fluid into the annular groove is provided in the stationary member; improvements are made in that a vibration suppressing movable ring is accommodated within the annular groove, the movable ring is mounted to the stationary member so as to be movable only in a radial direction so that an outside annular gap clearance may be formed between an outer circumferential surface of the movable ring and an inner circumferential surface of the annular groove and also an inside annular gap clearance may be formed between an inner circumferential surface of an inner hole of the movable ring and an outer circumferential surface of the rotary body which extends through the inner hole, the inside gap clearance is divided into a plurality of arcuate gap clearance sections, and the respective arcuate gap clearance sections a formed in a wedge-like shape that is gradually narrowed towards the downstream side in the direction of rotation of the rotary body.
