An optical device according to one embodiment includes: a light-emitting element; first and second lenses optically coupled with the light-emitting element; an optical component provided between the light-emitting element and the second lens, optically coupling each of the light-emitting element and the second lens, and multiplexing input lights; and a base having a lower plate having a plurality of convex mounting surfaces with each of the light-emitting element, the first lens, the second lens, and the optical component being mounted thereon and a side wall with a receptacle being connected thereto.

Optical device and manufacturing method for optical device

An optical transceiver according to an embodiment includes: a housing having inner sides defining an inner space inside the housing; an optical module including a package, a semiconductor device, and a sleeve, the package being configured to house the semiconductor device, the semiconductor device generating a Joule heat, the sleeve being attached to an outside of the package, the sleeve being fixed to the housing with keeping the package away from the inner sides; a heat-conducting material filled between the package and one of the inner sides, the heat-conducting material including an oily component; and a sheet member being placed between the heat-conducting material and the package, the sheet member covering the heat-conducting material to prevent the oily component from reaching the optical module. The Joule heat is conducted from the package to the housing through the sheet member and the heat-conducting material.

Optical transceiver

An optical transceiver according to one embodiment includes a housing having an inner space and inner planes that face to each other and define the inner space, a TOSA including a package and a sleeve attached to the package, the sleeve being fixed to the housing, the package being housed in the inner space, a heat conductive gel that is plastic or deformable and closely sandwiched between the package and one of the inner planes, a fitting member in contact with the other of the inner planes and detachably fixed to the housing, and a resin member closely sandwiched between the package and the fitting member.

An optical transceiver includes an internal fiber that optically connects an optical modulator and a VOA, the internal fiber having a lower limit of bending radius, a guide that includes an arc-shaped convex surface, and a lower housing having an internal space and includes the optical modulator, the VOA, the internal fiber, and the guide. The arc-shaped convex surface of the guide and the inner wall of the lower housing forms an arc-shaped path that houses a portion of the internal fiber and bent the portion of the internal fiber with a bending radius larger than the minimum bending radius.

An optical receiver module that receives a wavelength multiplexed light and a process to assemble the optical receiver module are disclosed. The optical receiver module provides a coupling unit to collimate the wavelength multiplexed light and a device unit that installs an optical de-multiplexer and photodiode elements within a housing. The front wall of the housing through which the wavelength multiplexed light passes is polished in a right angle with respect to the bottom of the housing.

An optical receiver module that receives wavelength multiplexed light and a process to assemble the optical receiver module are disclosed. The optical receiver module provides a coupling unit to collimate the wavelength multiplexed light and a device unit that installs an optical de-multiplexer and photodiode elements within housing. The front wall of the housing through which the wavelength multiplexed light passes is polished in a right angle with respect to the bottom of the housing.

A coherent optical transceiver is disclosed. The coherent optical transceiver installs an integrated coherent receiver (ICR), an optical modulator, an intelligent wavelength tunable laser diode (i-TLD), a digital signal processor (DSP), a driver to drive the optical modulator, and so on within a compact housing. The ICR is connected to the printed circuit board (PCB) through flexible printed circuit (FPC) boards and mounted thereon through a holder. The holder forms a gap against the PCB, where the FPC boards pass through the gap and connected on the pads formed on the surface of the PCB beneath the holder.

Optical transceiver and method to assemble the same

An optical transceiver of the CFP type having a gasket set within the slot is disclosed. The optical transceiver provides the slots in respective sides of the housing to pass the screws therein for fastening the optical transceiver to an electrical plug prepared in the host system. A support is also set within the slot so as to extend along the outer wall of the slot and not to interfere with the screw. The support pushes the gasket against the outer wall so as to cover a gap inherently formed between the top housing and the bottom housing.

An optical transceiver for the coherent communication system is disclosed. The optical transceiver follows the standard of the CFP transceiver and installs a wavelength tunable laser diode (LD) as a light source for the optical transmission and a local light for the optical reception; an optical modulator of the Mach-Zehnder type made of dielectric material; and an optical receiver to recover the DP-QPSK optical signal. The housing of the optical transceiver provides a front auxiliary area and a rear auxiliary area to install a slender optical modulator and to bend an inner fiber with a large radius.

A pluggable optical transceiver, which is to be engaged with a rail prepared in the host system, is disclosed. The optical transceiver includes a housing that encloses optical and electrical components therein, a fastening screw that screws that engages the optical transceiver with the rail, and an actuator, which moves synchronously with the rotation of the fastening screw, protrudes from the side of the housing to be latched with the rail.

Pluggable optical transceiver

A receiver optical module to facilitate the assembling is disclosed. The receiver optical module includes an intermediate assembly including the optical de-multiplexer and the optical reflector each mounted on the upper base, and the lens and the PD mounted on the sub-mount. The latter assembly is mounted on the bottom of the housing; while, the former assembly is also mounted on the bottom through the lower base. The upper base is apart from the bottom and extends in parallel to the bottom to form a surplus space where the amplifying circuit is mounted.

Receiver optical module for receiving wavelength multiplexed optical signals and method to assemble the same

A pluggable optical transceiver with the CFP type and the MT ferrule is disclosed. The optical transceiver provides in a rear of the optical receptacle a mechanism to push frontward the MT ferrule set in the optical receptacle and to shield the inside of the optical transceiver. Inner fibers connecting the MT ferrule with another MT ferrule assembled with optical devices pass the mechanism, which may be a metal plate with the elastic function and/or a coil spring combined with a holder to hold the MT ferrule.

An optical transceiver with inner fibers to couple optical parts installed therein is disclosed. The optical transceiver of an embodiment includes a tray for arranging the inner fibers. The tray, which may be made of metal plate, includes a primary plane in contact with the electronic parts, the contact plane in contact with the housing, and the turn connecting the planes. The tray has a U-shaped cross section with a space surrounded by both planes, the turn, and the housing, where the inner fibers are secured in the space.

A pluggable optical transceiver is disclosed. The transceiver comprises a plurality of OSAs, an optical member and a plurality of inner fibers to couple the optical member with OSAs. The inner fibers each provides an inner connector to couple with one of OSAs. The housing, which installs the OSAs, the optical member and the inner fiber, is made of metal and has a grooves into which the inner fibers is set so as to arrange them orderly.

Method for manufacturing pluggable optical transceiver

An optical transceiver capable of narrowing an extra space for an external optical fiber is disclosed. The optical transceiver of an embodiment provides an optical receptacle with a port, to which the external optical fiber is to be inserted, headed for a direction in diagonal to the longitudinal axis of the optical transceiver. In another embodiment, the optical transceiver provides an optical receptacle capable of turning the port thereof.
