Disclosed is an electrolyte solution used for a lithium secondary battery having high capacity, less undergoing aging deterioration of capacity, and also excellent in life characteristic. The electrolyte solution used for a lithium secondary battery contains a compound having a trivalent or higher boron formed by incorporation of a boroxine compound represented by (RO)(BO)in which R(s) each represent independently an organic group of 1 to 6 carbon atoms and LiPF, and a non-aqueous solvent.

Electrolyte solution for lithium secondary battery and lithium secondary battery

Provided is a technique of achieving a longer-life lithium ion secondary battery. The lithium ion secondary battery includes a cathode including a cathode active material containing Mn, an anode including an anode active material containing graphite and non-aqueous electrolytic solution including electrolyte, and LiBFand LiPFare allowed to coexist in the non-aqueous electrolytic solution. Especially preferably LiPFis contained more than LiBFin the electrolytic solution. Preferably the electrolytic solution further includes iodide salt. As a result, an oxide of phosphor and boron is deposited on the cathode, thus preventing elution of Mn included in the cathode. The amount of these electrolytes is preferably in the decreasing order of phosphor, boron and then iodine.

Lithium-ion rechargeable battery

A cathode material for a lithium secondary battery capable of stably suppressing manganese dissolution even under high temperature and voltage conditions is provided. Further, by using the cathode material for a lithium secondary battery, a lithium secondary battery excellent in a charge/discharge cycle profile at a high temperature and a secondary battery module equipped with the battery are provided. The cathode material for a lithium secondary battery comprises a lithium manganese composite oxide and a coating layer formed on the surface of the lithium manganese composite oxide. The coating layer includes an oxide compound or a fluoride compound each containing M (wherein, M is at least one element selected from the group of Mg, Al and Cu), and a phosphorous compound. An atomic density of M at the side of the lithium manganese composite oxide in the coating layer is higher than an atomic density of M at the side of a surface layer of the coating layer facing to the electrolyte.

An object of the invention is to reduce the charging overvoltage by using a positive electrode member which does not contain a carbon material that causes the generation of lithium carbonate (LiCO), and which comprises a metal porous material, thereby suppressing the formation of lithium carbonate (LiCO). The metal air secondary battery of the invention is characterized by having a negative electrode member which has metal ions occluded therein and emits metal ions, a positive electrode member which ionizes oxygen, and a separator which is impregnated with an electrolyte and disposed between the negative electrode member and the positive electrode member, wherein the carbon weight in the total weight of a carrier, a catalyst, and a binder constituting the positive electrode member is 50% or less.

Metal air secondary battery

A nonaqueous electrolyte and a lithium-ion secondary battery using the same, wherein a mixture of a cyclic carbonate, a chain carbonate, a first phosphoric acid ester wherein bonding between carbons is a single bond, and a second phosphoric acid ester wherein bonding between carbons contains a double bond is used as the nonaqueous electrolyte. It is desirable that the first phosphoric acid ester is a trimethyl phosphate. In addition, it is desirable that the second phosphoric acid ester is a dimethylisopropenyl phosphate.

Nonaqueous electrolyte and lithium-ion secondary battery using thereof

A non-aqueous electrolyte and a lithium secondary battery using the same are provided, which satisfy both flame retardancy and charge-discharge cycle characteristics, and attain a longer lifetime of the battery. A mixture of a chain carbonate, vinylene carbonate, a fluorinated cyclic carbonate and a phosphate ester is used as the non-aqueous electrolyte. It is desirable that the phosphate ester includes trimethyl phosphate and a fluorinated phosphate ester. Further, it is desirable that ethylene carbonate is further contained.

Non-aqueous electrolyte and lithium secondary battery using the same

A lithium secondary battery, comprising: a positive electrode capable of intercalating and deintercalating lithium; and an negative electrode capable of intercalating and deintercalating lithium, wherein the positive electrode contains a manganese-containing positive electrode active material of a spinel structure and an oxide that coats the surface of this positive electrode active material, wherein the oxide contains a metallic element, wherein the metallic element forms a solid solution with the positive electrode active material, and wherein the atomic concentration of the metallic element is approximately 0 at depths of from 50 to 100 nm from an external surface of the negative electrode.

To provide a lithium secondary battery which suppresses a decrease in the charge and discharge efficiency during a battery storage test and which is excellent in maintaining the battery capacity after the storage test. There are disclosed a nonaqueous lithium battery, comprising: a positive electrode active material comprising a lithium-containing oxide capable of inserting and detaching lithium ions; a negative electrode active material comprising a carbon material capable of inserting and detaching lithium ions; and an electrolytic solution containing a lithium ion, wherein the surface of the negative electrode active material after initializing charging is coated with a compound derived from vinylene carbonate, and wherein a weight power density of the lithium battery is no less than 100 Wh/kg, and a method of producing a nonaqueous lithium battery comprising a step of sealing a positive electrode active material, a negative electrode active material, and a nonaqueous electrolytic solution using a sealed container, wherein a predetermined amount of vinylene carbonate is added into the nonaqueous electrolytic solution, and the initializing charging is carried out to form a coating on the surface of the negative electrode active material, the coating being derived from the vinylene carbonate.

Lithium secondary battery and production method of the same

The present invention provides a battery that experiences a small degree of temporal change from the initial battery properties over the long term storage period of the battery. Specifically, the present invention provides a lithium secondary battery, in which a positive electrode capable of storing and releasing lithium and a negative electrode capable of storing and releasing lithium are formed via an electrolyte, wherein: the electrolyte comprises a cyclic solvent and a chain-type solvent and contains a compound having a boron-oxygen bond (B&#x2014;O) and a carbon-carbon double bond (C&#x2550;C).

Using a positive electrode active material including spinel type manganese oxide as the main constituent, a novel low cost and high output power flat type nonaqueous secondary cell for HEVs that has increased safety at overcharge, and superior storage properties and cycle life is provided. A flat type nonaqueous secondary cell that has increased safety and is superior in storage and cycle properties even though the cell is a laminate type cell which does not have a blocking mechanism can be obtained by blending the spinel type lithium manganese oxide of the positive electrode and 5 wt % to 40 wt % of layered type lithium manganese oxide, to suppress storage deterioration at a high temperature and to simultaneously achieve safety when overcharged, and further, by adding a Li compound having a structure as shown in Formula (1) structure, to suppress deterioration of a mixed positive electrode active material during a high temperature cycle.

A sodium-sulfur battery in which sulfur and/or sodium polysulfide are used as cathode active materials, and an electronic conductor, which are arranged in a cathode chamber between a cathode container operating concurrently as a cathode electric collector and a solid electrolyte tube, and a layer, made of a material having a superior corrosion resistance against sulfur and sodium polysulfide, is provided between said solid electrolyte tube and said electronic conductor, wherein the cathode electric collector as the electronic conductor has been improved.
