A heat exchanger is adapted to be used in a vapor compression system. The tube bundle includes a plurality of heat transfer tubes in a falling film region and in an accumulating region. The heat transfer tubes in the falling film region are arranged in a plurality of columns extending parallel to each other. The heat transfer tubes in the accumulating region are arranged in a plurality of rows extending parallel to each other. A trough part includes a plurality of trough sections disposed respectively below the rows of the heat transfer tubes in the accumulating region to accumulate the refrigerant therein. A ratio between a number of rows of the heat transfer tubes in the accumulating region and a number of the heat transfer tubes in each of the columns in the falling film region is about 1:9 to about 2:8.

Heat exchanger

A heat exchanger for a vapor compression system includes a shell, a distributing part disposed inside of the shell to distribute a refrigerant, a tube bundle and a trough part. The tube bundle includes a plurality of heat transfer tubes disposed inside of the shell below the distributing part. The tube bundle includes a falling film region disposed below the distributing part, an accumulating region disposed below the falling film region, and a flooded region disposed below the accumulating region at a bottom portion of the shell. The trough part extends under at least one of the heat transfer tubes in the accumulating region to accumulate the refrigerant therein. The trough part at least partially overlaps with the at least one of the heat transfer tubes in the accumulating region when viewed along a horizontal direction perpendicular to the longitudinal center axis of the shell.

A heat exchanger for a vapor compression system includes a shell with a longitudinal center axis extending generally parallel to a horizontal plane, a distributing part, a tube bundle, a trough part and a guide part. The distributing part distributes a refrigerant. The tube bundle includes a plurality of heat transfer tubes disposed below the distributing part so that the refrigerant discharged from the distributing part is supplied onto the tube bundle. The heat transfer tubes extend generally parallel to the longitudinal center axis of the shell. The trough part extends generally parallel to the longitudinal center axis of the shell under at least one of the heat transfer tubes to accumulate the refrigerant in the trough part. The guide part includes at least one lateral side portion extending upwardly and laterally outwardly from the tube bundle at a vertical position at an upper end of the trough part.

A heat exchanger includes a shell, a refrigerant distribution assembly, a heat transferring unit and a canopy member. The refrigerant distribution assembly receives a refrigerant that enters the shell and discharges the refrigerant. The refrigerant distribution assembly has at least one outermost lateral end. The heat transferring unit is disposed below the refrigerant distribution assembly so that the refrigerant discharged from the refrigerant distribution assembly is supplied to the heat transferring unit. The heat transferring unit includes a plurality heat transfer tubes. The canopy member includes at least one lateral side portion extending laterally outwardly and downwardly from a position above the refrigerant distribution assembly. The lateral side portion has a free end disposed laterally further from a vertical plane than the refrigerant distribution assembly, and lower than an upper edge of the outermost lateral end of the refrigerant distribution assembly.

A heat exchanger is adapted to be used in a vapor compression system, and includes a shell, a distributing part and a tube bundle. The tube bundle includes a plurality of heat transfer tubes arranged in a plurality of columns extending parallel to each other when viewed along the longitudinal center axis of the shell. The heat transfer tubes has at least one of: an arrangement in which a vertical pitch between adjacent ones of the heat transfer tubes in at least one of the columns is larger in an upper region of the tube bundle than in a lower region of the tube bundle; and an arrangement in which a horizontal pitch between adjacent ones of the columns is larger in an outer region of the tube bundle than in an inner region of the tube bundle.

A heat exchanger includes a shell, a refrigerant distribution assembly and a heat transferring unit. The refrigerant distribution assembly includes a first tray part and second tray parts. The first tray part continuously extends generally parallel to the longitudinal center axis of the shell to receive a refrigerant that enters the shell. The second tray parts are disposed below the first tray part to receive the refrigerant discharged from first discharge apertures such that the refrigerant accumulated in the second tray parts does not communicate between the second tray parts. The second tray parts are aligned along a direction generally parallel to the longitudinal center axis of the shell. The heat transferring unit is disposed below the second tray parts so that the refrigerant discharged from second discharge apertures of the second tray parts is supplied to the heat transferring unit.

A finned tube heat exchanger includes a plurality heat-transfer fins and a plurality of heat-transfer tubes. The heat-transfer fins are disposed along an airflow direction. The plurality of heat-transfer tubes are inserted into the heat-transfer fins and arranged in a direction substantially orthogonal to the airflow direction. Each of the heat transfer fins includes a plurality of sets of cut-and-raised parts with each set being straightly aligned from the upstream side toward the downstream side. At least one set of cut-and-raised parts is connected by a straight line sloped relative to the airflow direction. Each of the heat transfer fins includes a plurality of concavities with each concavity formed on a periphery of one of the heat-transfer tubes at least partially below a horizontal plane that passes through a center axis of the heat-transfer tubes and lies on an upper surface of the heat transfer fin having the concavity formed therein.

Finned tube heat exchanger

The present invention relates to a hot water heat transfer pipe that exchanges heat between its interior and exterior. A plurality of projections, each having a height in the range of 0.8-2.0 mm or 0.1-0.25 times the inner diameter, is provided in at least one part of an inner surface of a portion of the heat transfer pipe positioned in a section where the Reynolds number of the fluid flowing in the interior is less than 7,000 to improve the heat transfer performance in the low Reynolds number zone and minimize pressure loss inside the pipe.

When the length of the above described main bodyof the flow divider is L mm and the inner diameter of the above described main bodyof the flow divider is Dmm, the relationship 2&#x2266;L/D&#x2266;8 holds, and thus, a flow divider can be gained, where discrepancy (variation) in the flow rate ratio in the respective paths for the flow discharged from the outlet of the flow divider and entering the heat exchanger is small and pressure loss is small when there is a change of approximately &#xb1;10&#xb0; in the installation angle, a change in the dryness of the refrigerant at the inlet (0.2 to 0.4) or a change in the flow rate of the refrigerant (50% to 100%).
