The present invention relates to a method of suppressing coloration of catechins, which contains adding, to catechins, a water-soluble polymer forming a water-insoluble complex with catechins, as well as hydrogel particles containing a water-insoluble complex between catechins and a polymer forming a water-insoluble complex with catechins. Further, the present invention relates to a dentifrice composition containing hydrogel particles containing catechins and a polymer forming a water-insoluble complex with catechins, a binder and water.

Method of suppressing coloration of catechins and a dentifrice composition

An oral preparation of the present invention contains a multi-composition system including a calcium ion supplying compound; a fluoride ion supplying compound a polyolphosphate ion supplying compound; and, a monofluorophosphate ion supplying compound, wherein the calcium ion supplying compound and the fluoride ion supplying compound are separated within the oral preparation.

The composition comprises (A) a calcium ion-supplying compound which supplies calcium ions at 100 to 16000 ppm, (B) a monofluorophosphate ion-supplying compound which supplies monofluorophosphate ions at 250 to 25000 ppm, and (C) one or more acids selected from the group consisting of lactic acid, malic acid, and tartaric acid, and the composition has a pH of 4 to 6.2.

A composition for use in the oral cavity comprising a monophosphate represented by the following general formula (1), ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a linear or branched alkyl or alkenyl group with 6 to 20 carbon atoms, and may have a substituted fluorine atom; one of X.sup.1 or X.sup.2 is a basic amino acid residual group, while the other is a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal, an ammonium, an alkyl amine, an alkanol amine, or a basic amino acid residual group; and n is an integer from 0 to 4. The composition exhibits a superior action in protecting the tooth surface, is stable, and has a pleasant taste.

Alkaline cellulases having an optimum pH in an alkaline range and being stable over a broad pH range are produced by microorganisms which belong to the genus Bacillus and grow in a neutral medium. These alkaline cellulases are rarely inhibited by ingredients ordinarily incorporated in detergents such as surface active agents, proteinases and chelating agents, so that they can be conveniently used in detergent compositions.

Alkaline cellulases and microorganisms capable of producing same

Novel alkali-resistant cellulases which have an optimum pH at a neutral region and have a high relative activity in an alkaline region are produced by microorganisms belonging to the genus Bacillus and growing in neutral medium. The cellulases suffer little inhibition by means of detergent ingredients such as surface active agents, proteinases and chelating agents. Therefore, they can be conveniently used as one of ingredients for detergent compositions.

DNA frangments containing an alkaline cellulase K gene, which comprise about 4.0, about 2.4 and about 1.9 kilo base pairs, respectively, each having a specific restruction map, recombinant plasmids containing any of these DNA fragments, and recombinant microorganisms harboring any of said plasmids. The alkaline cellulase K gene is derived from a bacterial strain which belongs to the genus Bacillus and is alkalophilic, that is, capable of revealing an optimum growth in an alkaline pH region.
