A trigger switch used in electric devices such as various types of electric tools may be provided that drives a drive unit, such as a drive motor of the electric device, by pushing a trigger. A trigger switch includes a mode switching lever that switches between a constant speed mode in which the drive unit is driven at constant speed and a shift mode in which the drive unit is driven by an output corresponding to a pushing amount of a trigger. Further, the mode switching lever includes a regulating portion that regulates the pushing amount of the trigger according to the switched mode.

Trigger switch

A switch according to one or more embodiments may include a movable unit movable in response to an operation. A drive unit is drivable in response to movement of the movable unit. The switch may include an operation-linked unit movable in response to the movement of the movable unit and an operation follower unit spaced from the operation-linked unit to move in response to movement of the operation-linked unit with a magnetic force between the operation follower unit and the operation-linked unit. At least one of the operation-linked unit or the operation follower unit is magnetic. The drive unit is drivable in response to movement of the operation follower unit. The operation follower unit accommodated in a chamber is spaced from the operation-linked unit.

Switch

A trigger switch according to one or more embodiments may include a first conductive plate (movable electrode) movable in response to movement of a trigger receiving a depressing operation, and a second fixed electrode (fixed electrode) located adjacent to a movable range of the first conductive plate with a space in between. The second fixed electrode forms a capacitor together with the first conductive plate. The capacitor formed by the first conductive plate and the second fixed electrode has a capacitance that changes as the first conductive plate moves.

A trigger switch may include a first urging member urging a trigger, a shaft including a first end attached to the trigger, a first movable member connected to a second end of the shaft, a second movable member, a second urging member located between the first movable member and the second movable member, and a contact portion to be in contact with the second movable member moved in a depressing direction. In response to a depressing operation on the trigger, the first movable member, the second movable member, and the second urging member move in the depressing direction until the second movable member comes in contact with the contact portion. In response to an additional depressing operation on the trigger with the second movable member in contact with the contact portion, the first movable member moves in the depressing direction, and the second urging member urges the first movable member.

A switch may include: a movable member comprising a movable piece extending from a swing shaft and being swingable around the swing shaft; and a pressing member configured to press the movable piece while moving in response to a pushing operation, the movable piece swinging in response to pressing from the pressing member. The pressing member comprises a first contact portion configured to slide along an extending direction of the movable piece in a state of being in contact with the movable piece due to movement by the pushing operation, and a second contact portion configured to be in contact with the movable piece at a position different from a position where the first contact portion is in contact, due to the movement by the pushing operation, and the pressing member presses the movable piece by the first contact portion and the second contact portion in a contact state.
