There is provided a mounting tool, for a linear displacement measuring apparatus, which is capable of reducing thermal stress of a scale housing case and is detachable while having a simple structure. The mounting tool includes a cylindrical bush inserted into a through hole drilled in the scale housing case, an O-ring interposed between an inside wall of the through hole and the bush, a mounting screw inserted into a cylindrical hole of the bush and screwed into a mounting face, and a plate spring arranged between a head part of the mounting screw and an outside face of the scale housing case, and biasing the scale housing case toward the mounting face.

Mounting tool for linear displacement measuring apparatus

There is provided a linear displacement measuring apparatus which notifies a user when being installed defectively. A slider includes a traveling body which travels along a main scale on the main scale, a carriage part mounted on an object, and coupling means which couples the traveling body with the carriage part. The coupling means allows relative displacement between the traveling body and the carriage part and biases the traveling body towards the main scale. The coupling means has a connecting rod arranged so as to couple the traveling body with the carriage part via a ball joint. The slider further has misalignment detecting means which detects that the relative displacement between the traveling body and the carriage part exceeds a prescribed allowable range. The misalignment detecting means is a pair of projecting pieces arranged in a vicinity of the connecting rod so that the displacement of the connecting rod is regulated within a predetermined range.

Linear displacement measuring apparatus

A linear encoder includes a scale; a frame in which the scale is held, the frame having an opening that extends in a longitudinal direction of the frame; and a pair of elongated dustproof members arranged to face each other in the opening. At least a part of each dustproof member is elastically deformable. Each dustproof member includes a first end portion in a transverse direction of the dustproof member, a first projecting portion disposed on the first end portion, and a second end portion in the transverse direction. The opening has a pair of fitting recesses formed therein. The first end portion of each dustproof member is fitted in a corresponding one of the fitting recesses, and the first projecting portion contacts the corresponding one of the fitting recesses.
