A disk accommodating device for accommodating a disk includes a housing on which an opening portion for allowing the disk to be accommodated into a disk accommodating section therethrough is formed, and a lid member for closing up the opening portion. The housing has a support portion for supporting a one-end side of the lid member for pivotal motion such that the other end side of the lid member may move toward and away from the housing. The disk accommodating section has an upright piece attached for pivotal motion on the side opposite to the side thereof on which the support portion is provided such that the upright piece engages at one end thereof with the disk accommodating section and at the other end thereof with the lid member so as to be erected uprightly from the disk accommodating section in response to pivotal motion of the lid member. The upright piece has a raising up portion provided thereon for raising up, when the lid member is pivoted in a direction in which the lid member is spaced away from the housing, the disk accommodated in the disk accommodating section from the disk accommodating section.

Disk accommodating device, disk apparatus and electronic apparatus

A control apparatus includes a pressure-sensitive device for providing an analog signal responsive to an applied pressure, a level segmenting unit for segmenting the analog signal into output levels and an analog-to-digital (A/D) converting unit for converting the segmented analog signal into a digital signal having a plurality of bits.

An analog operation is possible by a pressing operation of a controller which is normally used for conventional digital operation. A detecting device (e.g., a pressure-sensitive device) for outputting an analog signal corresponding to the pressing operation by the controller is provided, the analog signal which is outputted by the detecting device is segmented into levels by a level segmenting unit, and the segmented analog signal is converted into a digital signal having a plurality of bits corresponding to the output level by an A/D converting unit. A segmenting-range setting unit (such as a memory) for setting the range of output levels of the analog signal which is segmented by the level segmenting unit is also provided. The level segmenting unit segments the output level of the analog signal which is outputted by the detecting device within the range which is set by the segmenting-range setting unit.

Control apparatus and outputting signal adjusting method therefor

An operating device is capable of both digital operation and analog operation by using a pressing operation continuously. The operating device has detecting elements (e.g., pressure-sensitive elements) for outputting analog signals according to the pressing operations of operators, and is configured such that the analog signals output from the detecting elements are subjected to level dividing by a level dividing unit and converted into multi-bit digital signals corresponding to the output levels thereof by an A/D converting unit. The operating device is also configured so as to output single-bit digital signals according to a change in the analog signals output from the detecting element. A switching unit outputs one or the other of the multi-bit digital signals and single-bit digital signals.

Operating device

A disk device is provided with a disk tray having a detachable guide member, which guides an optical disk between a depression and claws provided thereon. When an optical disk is to be mounted within a disk device in the vertical orientation, the optical disk can automatically be guided between depression and claws by moving the disk along the guide member. In addition, because the guide member is detachable, it can be attached if the disk device is to be used in vertical orientation and removed if it is to be used in horizontal orientation.

A repeater has multiple operation terminal connections to which operation terminals are connected, multiple external memory device connections that are set in correspondence with the operation terminal connections and to which external memory devices are connected, and a main body connection terminal with which an electronic device main body is connected. The repeater makes possible communication between electronic device main body and connected operation terminals and external memory devices. An independent operation terminal communication system and an independent external memory device communication system are integrated into a main body connection terminal, hereby enabling simultaneous connection of such communication systems with the operation terminal connection and memory device connection on the electronic device main body.

An electronic device cabinet and an electronic device wherein the rotation of the cover upon opening can be slowed with a simple hinge mechanism. A rotating member provided with a protruding piece is provided on said cover. Said rotating member comes into sliding contact with contact parts provided on an upper case main body and slides together with the rotation of cover. The rotation of cover is slowed by having protruding piece come into contact with contact parts, and the rotation of cover is stopped by said protruding piece engaging a receiving member disposed between said contact parts.

An operating apparatus and a signal-output modulating method therefor allow analogous operations to be implemented by use of press-operational operation elements that have conventionally been used for digital operations. In the operating apparatus, detecting elements are provided, each of which is formed of a resistant material and a conductive material. The detecting elements individually output analog signals corresponding to press-operations performed on the operation elements. An output-level range of an analog signal outputted from the detecting element is divided by a level divider into multiple levels, and an analog-digital (A-D) converter performs conversion thereof to digital signals corresponding to the output levels. In addition, the output levels of the individual digital signals outputted from the A-D converter are shifted by a level corrector according to a predetermined corresponding reference, and the digital signals are thereby output.

Operating apparatus and signal-output-modulating method for the same

An electronic device cabinet for an electronic device is provided with a cover and an engaging member that holds the cover in a closed state. The engaging member has an integrally formed impelling member that acts upon the engaging member and furthers the interengagement with said cover. The integrally formed engagement member and impelling member can be attached to the cabinet in a simple maneuver, thereby simplifying the overall assembly of the electronic device cabinet.

An insulative/protective sheet has a narrower insulator and a wider protector. The insulator is placed in a battery holder of a portable information terminal and electrically insulates a battery and negative electrode terminals from each other in the battery holder. The protector is placed on a color display unit of the portable information terminal and protects a display panel of the color display unit.

A remote control device for remotely controlling an AV (audio visual) device includes an analog switch ( ) formed of an operating element ( or ) and a pressure-sensitive resistor ( ) which outputs a signal with various levels depending upon a pressing force applied to the operating element ( or ). An external storage device connected to an entertainment system for storing game information is provided. Even if there are plural types of entertainment systems, and the correspondence between the types of entertainment systems and the kind of the external storage device cannot be grasped, the external storage device can be readily connected to the entertainment system without any trouble. The external storage device connected to the entertainment system to receive information from the entertainment system and store the information therein has a portion to-be-mounted to engage with a receiving portion of the entertainment system for electrical connection with the entertainment system. The portion to-be-mounted has a shape preventing itself from engaging with the receiving portion of a predetermined particular type of entertainment system out of the entertainment systems in systematized series, for preventing a connection with the predetermined particular type of the entertainment system.

Entertainment system and external storage device therefor

A shield member for an electronic apparatus comprises a contact portion that extends outwardly from the shield member. The shield member is attached to an electronic apparatus slot unit and spans between the slot unit and a radiation unit via the contact portion. The contact portion creates a grounding potential between the slot unit and the radiation member.
