A preceding engaging portion preceding a last engaging portion has a smaller diameter or is positioned further inward than the last engaging portion. Because of this configuration, an engagement of the preceding engaging portion with respect to a last engaged portion becomes more easily disengageable in comparison to the last engaging portions. When the preceding engaging portion disengages from the last engaged portion, the driver moves downward to a standby position. Accordingly, an engagement of the engaging portions with the engaged portions can be properly corrected, such that the last engaging portion engages the last engaged portion at the standby position.

Driving tool

A driving tool includes a piston configured to move in a driving direction due to gas pressure, and a driver configured to move integrally with the piston to strike a fastener. The driver includes a plurality of rack teeth formed along a driving direction. The driving tool includes a wheel having a plurality of engaging portions to engage the plurality of rack teeth at its outer circumference. The driver is moved in a counter-driving direction as the wheel rotates. The plurality of engaging portions of the wheel includes at least one advancing/retracting engaging portion configured to move with respect to a shaft member of the wheel. The driver has a tooth groove between adjacent rack teeth of the plurality of rack teeth. One tooth groove is configured to receive the advancing/retracting engaging portion and has a depth deeper than at least one other tooth groove.

Driving tools

An elastic member is disposed between an internal gear of a gear train and a gear housing. A force is applied to the gear train when a lift mechanism is activated. The force is received and absorbed by the elastic member, thereby reducing the amount of force received by the gear housing.

A driving tool comprises a cylinder extending in an up-down direction and a piston that moves downward within the cylinder due to a compressed gas to drive a driving member. The driving tool further comprises a main body housing that houses the cylinder and a grip extending rearward from a rear surface of the main body housing. The driving tool further comprises an upper chamber that is provided above the cylinder and communicates with the cylinder. The driving tool further comprises an air chamber that extends downward from the upper chamber and that extends only in an area on a right or left side of the main body housing with respect to both an axis center of the cylinder and an axis center of the grip.

A driving tool includes a tool body, a flywheel, a driver and a pressing mechanism. The pressing mechanism is disposed on a side opposite to the flywheel across the driver in a facing direction in which the flywheel and the driver face each other. The pressing mechanism includes a spring mechanism and a pressing roller. The spring mechanism includes a first spring part and a second spring part and is configured to be displaced along with forward movement of the driver. The pressing roller is configured to press the driver toward the flywheel in the facing direction by a biasing force of the spring mechanism in a process of the forward movement of the driver, to thereby enable transmission of the rotational energy to the driver. A spring constant of the whole spring mechanism varies according to an amount of displacement of the whole spring mechanism.

A nailing machine includes a tool body, a flywheel (), a driver (), a pressing mechanism and a return mechanism. The pressing mechanism includes a spring mechanism and a pressing roller (). The pressing roller () is supported to be rotatable around a rotation axis (A) and movable in a left-right direction, and configured to press the driver () toward the flywheel () by a biasing force of the spring mechanism in a nail-driving process in which the driver () moves from an initial position to a nail-driving position, to thereby enable transmission of the rotational energy to the driver (). The pressing mechanism is configured such that the position of the pressing roller () relative to the driver () changes in the left-right direction between the nail-driving process and a return process, thereby making it impossible for the pressing roller () to press the driver () in the return process.

A power tool () includes an electric motor () as a drive source and a start switch () that starts the electric motor () and is lockable in an ON position in a lock-ON state. An electromagnetic actuator () pushes out or pulls in an actuation pin () with respect to a body of the electromagnetic actuator () in response to cutting off of a supply of electrical current to the power tool (). The pushed-out or pulled-in actuation pin, directly or indirectly, disengages the start switch () from the lock-ON state and/or prevents the start switch () from being shifted into the lock-ON state.
