Under the granulating sectionfor performing fluidized-bed granulation coating of powder grains, a drying sectionfor drying powder grains granulated is provided. A drying sectionfor drying the powder grains that are not sufficiently dried is provided under the drying section. A product discharging sectionfor discharging a dried product is provided under the drying section. A fluidized-bed forming-gas is supplied downward to upward, and granulation and dryness are continuously performed by the fluidized-bed forming-gas, and the powder grains moved from the granulating section to the drying section located immediately thereunder are pneumatic classified.

An upper processing section is provided by evenly spacing out functional stations having respective functions of steps constituting a fluidized bed granulation coating process, on circumferential points. An intermediate storing section is provided under the upper processing section by evenly spacing out powder grain storing vessels corresponding to the plurality of functional stations on circumferential points. A lower gas supply section is provided under the intermediate storing section by evenly spacing out gas supply stations corresponding to the plurality of powder grain storing vessels The powder grain storing vessels storing powder grains sequentially proceed to the respective functional stations to execute respective processes to the powder grains, and thereby granulation coating of the powder grains is performed in a batch type and a continuous type. This is a granulating-coating apparatus comprising: a spraying means for spraying a binder liquid or a coating liquid onto articles to be processed, which are received in a rotary drum; a brush provided in a manner to be movable relatively to the spraying means in the rotary drum, for contacting a spray gun formed in the spraying means and removing adhered articles on the spray gun; and an adhered article sucking device provided in the vicinity of the brush, for receiving the removed adhered articles. With this arrangement, the adhered articles on spraying openings of the spraying means can be removed completely without contamination of the articles to be processed with the removed adhered articles.

An apparatus for applying a coating to a powdery or granular material has a rotary drum 20 including a tubular portion 21 formed with air holes 27 and hollow shaft portions 23 and 24 provided at opposite end portions in the axial direction. A coating chamber 26 is defined inside the rotary drum 20. Liquid is sprayed from a nozzle 32 onto an accumulated layer 33 of a powdery or granular material in the coating chamber 26. Drying gas supplied from an air supply duct 45 is introduced into the rotary drum 20 from one of the two hollow shaft portions 23 and 24. A plurality of axially extending air ducts 34 are provided on the outer periphery of the rotary drum 20. When an air duct is positioned downwardly it is communicated with an air exhaust duct 41 through a distributor 35. Air introduced from the air supply duct 45 is biased toward the accumulated layer 33 by louvers 48.

A granulating and coating apparatus comprising a rotary drum to be charged therein a powdery or granular material, and a baffle plate provided in the rotary drum and not rotatable together with the rotary drum. The rotary drum is formed to be a polygonal shape. This polygonal shape may be, for example, a pentagon, a hexagon, an octagon or a decagon. The baffle plate may be positionally fixedly supported. Or, the baffle plate can be made to change a position in a rocking direction, a position of the rotary drum in the axial direction, a depth of insertion into a layer of a powdery or granular material or an angle of insertion by use of plurality of actuators.
