A wire includes a core wire and an insulation coating that covers an outer periphery of the core wire. The core wire includes a distal end region containing a distal end surface of the core wire, and a body region being a part other than the distal end region. The distal end region includes a first distal end region containing the distal end surface, and a second distal end region located between the first distal end region and the body region. The insulation coating includes a distal end coating part that covers an outer periphery of the first distal end region in a tube shape, an insulation coating body that covers an outer periphery of the body region in a tube shape, a coating joint part that joins the distal end coating part and the insulation coating body together.

A wire includes a core wire, an insulating coating that covers an outer periphery of a non-distal end region as a part of the core wire other than the distal end region, and a distal end seal part that is disposed separately from the insulating coating and seals the distal end part of the distal end region of the core wire. The core wire is exposed between the distal end seal part and the insulating coating. The distal end seal part includes a tubular distal end cover part that covers an outer periphery of the distal end part and a welded part that is crushed in an orthogonal direction orthogonal to a wire direction and is closed by welding.

Harness with a wire terminal

A crimp terminal has a crimp barrel which is crimped onto a core wire of a cable. The crimp barrel has an inner surface in which a plurality of cavities which are independent from one another is formed. Each of the cavities has a predetermined shape in a plane orthogonal to a depth direction thereof before the crimp barrel is crimped onto a core wire. The predetermined shape has at least two straight portions and a concave curved portion connecting the straight portions. The concave curved portion is indented inward of the predetermined shape. A plurality of the concave curved portions which are close to each other and included respectively in the predetermined shapes distinct from each other is arranged on an identical imaginary circle or rounded rectangular.

Crimp terminal and connector

A connector is mateable with a mating connector which includes a mating contact having a mating contact point. The connector comprises a contact and a holding member which holds the contact. The contact has a contact portion. When the connector and the mating connector are mated with each other, the mating contact point slides on and is in contact with the contact portion. The contact portion has a first plated layer as its outermost layer and a second plated layer located under the first plated layer. The first plated layer is made of silver or silver alloy and has Vickers hardness not more than 90 Hv. The second plated layer is made of silver or silver alloy and has Vickers hardness not less than 100 Hv.

Connector

A connector pair comprises a first connector and a second connector which are mateable with each other. The first connector includes a first contact having a first contact portion which has a first plating layer made of silver or silver alloy. The second connector includes a second contact having a second contact portion which has a second plating layer made of silver or silver alloy. The second contact portion has a contact start point and a final contact point. The second plating layer has Vickers hardness not less than 120 Hv but not more than 180 Hv. The Vickers hardness of the second plating layer is larger than Vickers hardness of the first plating layer. When the first connector and the second connector are mated with each other, the first contact portion slides on the second contact portion from the contact start point to the final contact point.

Gripping surface for crimping terminal part

A crimp terminal includes a crimp barrel to be crimped around a conductive core of a cable. The crimp barrel includes an inner surface which is formed with a plurality of cavities independent of one another. Each of the cavities has a predetermined shape in a plane perpendicular to a depth direction of the cavity. The predetermined shape contains a plurality of straight-line segments. Every one of the straight-line segments of the predetermined shape is not parallel with remaining ones of the straight-line segments of the predetermined shape. The straight-line segments of the predetermined shape includes at least one pair of the straight-line segments, which are closest to each other among the straight-line segments of the predetermined shape and are arranged to make an interior angle less than 90 degrees or, if not intersecting each other, are arranged on two straight lines, respectively, wherein the two straight lines make an interior angle less than 90 degrees.

In a connector for connecting first and second connection objects faced to each other, a conductive contact includes a holding portion held by an insulator, a first spring portion, and a second spring portion connected to the first spring portion. The first spring portion extends from the holding portion in one direction and has a first contacting portion to be connected to the first connection object. The second spring portion extends in the other direction opposite to the one direction and has a free end provided with a second contacting portion to be connected to the second connection object.

Connector which can be reduced in warpage

In a connector including a contact and a housing holding the contact, a shell is coupled with the housing. The housing has a coupling portion to be coupled with a mating connector in a first direction. The contact has a contacting portion disposed in the coupling portion. The shell includes an opening edge defining an opening faced to the coupling portion and a guide portion disposed in the coupling portion to guide movement of the mating connector in the first direction.

Having conductive contacts (), a first insulator () retaining the contacts, and a cable-side insulator, attachable/detachable relative to the first insulator, for retaining a flat cable (). The cable-side insulator includes a second insulator () for receiving the flat cable, a third insulator () disposed so as to confront the second insulator via the flat cable, and a clamp () interposed between the flat cable and the third insulator. When the cable-side insulator is mounted to the first insulator, the second and third insulators are engaged with the first insulator to approach each other so that the flat cable is sandwiched between the clamp and the second insulator. In this state, the flat cable is connected to the contacts.
