An example display system for playing a video game includes a hand-holdable housing; a liquid crystal display; one or more input devices; a first boot ROM storing code that is executed if a video game program for the video game has a first specification; and a second boot ROM storing code that is executed if a video game program for the video game has a second specification.

Portable video game system

A cartridge, which is an attachment device, is mountable into an insertion slot in a game apparatus. At a side surface inside the insertion slot, a slide member is movable from a near side to a far side. The attachment device includes a housing and a hook. When the attachment device is inserted into the insertion slot, a predetermined portion of the housing abuts against the slide member, and the slide member is caused to move toward the far side of the insertion slot when the predetermined portion is inserted further inside while abutting against the slide member. The hook is inserted into a recessed portion generated at the side surface inside the insertion slot when the slide member moves toward the far side of the insertion slot, and then latches onto the inside wall.

Attachment device for an electronic apparatus

A hand-held display system for playing video games includes a housing grippable by a user's hands, a liquid crystal display viewable by the user gripping the housing, input devices operable by the user when the user grips the housing and a connector for, in use, operatively connecting to portable storage media storing video game programs for the video games. First processing circuitry processes video game programs having a first program specification and second processing circuitry processes video game programs having a second program specification.

Video game display system

A charging cradle for an electronic game device incorporating a rechargeable battery includes a housing having first and second surfaces with a peripheral edge wall therebetween, the housing forming a substantially closed interior chamber. At least one port is provided in the peripheral edge wall adapted to receive a charging wire connector, the port electrically connected to charging contacts supported within the closed interior chamber and movable from a normal retracted position to a use extended position where tips of the contacts project from the housing. An actuator button on the first surface is operatively connected to the pair of charging ports, such that upon engaging the electronic game device with the first surface, the button is depressed, causing the pair of charging contacts to move to the extended position to engage corresponding charging ports on a peripheral edge of the electronic game device.

Battery charger for hand-held electronic game device

A hookcauses an attachment device (cartridge), which is mounted into an insertion slot arranged in an electronic apparatus such as a game apparatus, to be engaged with the insertion slot. The hook includes an arm, a ring portionand a latch portion. The ring portionis connected to one end of the arm. The latch portionis connected to the other end of the arm, and is latchable onto a predetermined portion of the insertion slot. Further, the ring portionis pivoted by a spindleof the attachment device, and is shaped so as to be deformable when a force from the armis applied thereto, the force being caused by the attachment device moving so as to be ejected from the insertion slot.

A key switch comprises: a plurality of conductive portions which are respectively positioned in dispersed directions from a center of a key top; and contact patterns provided on a print substrate, which respectively face the conductive portions. The contact patterns each have, in a conductive portion facing area thereof, at least four separate lands, and the at least four lands include: a first land and a second land which are separated by a first gap provided on a first reference line which extends from a position facing the center of the key top in the direction of the center of the conductive portion facing area; a third land which is separated from the first land by a second gap provided at a position which is distant from the first reference line in one direction; and a fourth land which is separated from the second land by a third gap provided at a position which is distant from the first reference line in another direction.

Electrical connector

A card connector which prevents a card from popping out when the card is discharged and is not easily broken. The card connector includes a base having a slot into which a card can be inserted, a slider which is provided at a position in the base to be abuttable on the card and which can be caused to slide, a spring forcing the slider in the discharging direction of the card, and a lock spring including a plate spring having a tip end engageable with an engagement recess of the card and a base end mounted on the slider. The tip end can be displaced in a direction away from the card, and base is provided with a first rib which abuts on the tip end of the lock spring to prevent the tip end from being displaced when the slider is positioned at the card pop-out preventing position.

A battery connector in which, even when an engagement piece portion that is required for applying a preload to a contact of a contact member rubs with an engagement face formed in a wall face of a housing made of a synthetic resin, possibilities that the engagement face is shaved, and that the engagement piece portion is deformed can be eliminated. In the battery connector, a meandering contact member is housed in a housing. A mountain-like projection of the contact member is projected from an opening of the housing. An engagement piece portion formed in the mountain-like projection is engaged with an engagement face of the housing to apply a preload to the contact. The engagement piece portion has a shape which is free from an angular edge. Specifically, the engagement piece portion has a planar portion, and projection pieces which are continuously integrated with the planar portion through arcuate bent portions. Swollen portions having an arcuate face may be formed on the planar portion.
