A temperature display device issuing apparatus is configured to issue a temperature display device including a temperature indicator having a function of starting temperature detection when irradiated with light. The temperature display device issuing apparatus includes: a printing/recording device configured to print time information on the temperature display device; an irradiation device configured to irradiate the light onto the temperature indicator of the temperature display device; and a controller configured to control printing in the printing/recording device and irradiation in the irradiation device.

In a method of manufacturing piezoelectric actuators, a vibrating body plate supporting vibrating bodies at vibrational nodes thereof and a moving body plate having moving bodies are provided. Each of the vibrating bodies has a vibrator and a piezoelectric body mounted on the vibrator. The vibrating body plate and the moving body plate are stacked over one another to provide a piezoelectric actuator assembly. The piezoelectric actuator assembly is then cut at the vibrational nodes of the vibrating bodies to provide individual piezoelectric actuators.

An adhesive label includes a pressure-sensitive adhesive agent layer formed on one surface of a support. A non-adhesive heat-reactive layer is positioned above the adhesive agent layer and in which openings are formed by heating at a predetermined temperature or higher. An intermediate layer is positioned between the heat-reactive layer and the adhesive agent layer. The intermediate layer and the heat-reactive layer are each formed thinner than the adhesive agent layer. The intermediate layer facilitates the formation of the openings in the heat-reactive layer with good heat energy efficiency and allows the intermediate layer or the adhesive agent layer to be exposed through the openings.

Techniques for providing an ID image on a print medium are disclosed. Commodity information on a commodity settled in a store is received from a store terminal installed at the store. ID images, defining ID information in a frequency domain and accompanied by attribute information that is used by the store terminal to decide whether or not each of the stored ID images is to be printed, are stored. A correspondence between the commodity information and the stored ID images is also stored. ID images corresponding to the received commodity information from the stored ID images using the stored correspondence are then retrieved. An attribute list, which registers the attribute information of the stored ID images that is used by the store terminal to decide whether or not each of the stored ID images is to be printed, is stored. Thereafter, only the retrieved ID images which have been decided to be printed based on the stored attribute list are transmitted. The transmitted ID images are then printed on a print medium.

A product history management apparatus issues to label issuing apparatuses identification information to be printed on a label affixed on a product produced in production steps from raw material production to final product production. An identification information receiving device receives from a label issuing apparatus associated with one of the production steps information printed on a label affixed in a production step immediately preceding the one production step. An identification information transmitting device issues new identification information relative to the received identification information and transmits to the label issuing apparatus associated with the one production step the issued identification information. An identification information storage device stores the received identification information in the production step immediately preceding the one production step in association with the issued and transmitted new identification information.

A piezoelectric actuator has a base and a movable body disposed over a surface of the base for undergoing movement relative thereto. The movable body has a frame and at least one cantilever having a first end integrally connected to the frame and a second free end. A piezoelectric element is disposed on the cantilever for undergoing expansion and contraction movement in response to application of an alternating voltage to bring the second free end of the cantilever into and out of contact with the surface of the base to thereby move the movable body relative to the surface of the base. Spring members are connected to the frame of the movable body for regulating a direction of movement of the movable body relative to the surface of the base.

Piezoelectric actuator

A fine drive unit comprises a suspension arm having a head portion and a support member supporting the suspension arm for undergoing pivotal movement. The support member has a coupling portion connected to the suspension arm, a spring portion connected to the coupling portion, at least one pair of bi-directional cantilevers, and piezoelectric members each disposed on a respective one of the cantilevers. When a voltage having a preselected frequency is applied to the piezoelectric members, the cantilevers are vibrated to cause the cantilevers to contact the suspension arm and thereby finely drive the head portion.

A piezoelectric actuator has a rotational moving member and a supporting member disposed opposite to the rotational moving member and having cantilever portions. Each of the cantilever portions of the supporting member has a fixed end and a free end opposite to the fixed end for contacting the rotational moving member when the supporting member is oscillated. A piezoelectric member is disposed on a respective one of the cantilevers of the supporting member. A power source supplies a voltage to each of the piezoelectric members to oscillate the supporting member in a vibration mode higher than a secondary mode of vibration so that the free ends of the cantilevers make sufficient contact with the rotational moving member to thereby rotate the rotational moving member.

In a small rotary actuator having a rotor and a plurality of oscillators, each having a piezoelectric element that is excited by application of energy thereto so that the piezoelectric element oscillates at a resonance frequency thereof, the resonance frequency of the respective oscillators varies to some degree. This variation reduces the efficiency of rotation of the rotor. In order to reduce this variation, one or more of the piezoelectric elements of the oscillators is etched so that its resonance frequency is increased to match the resonance frequency of the other oscillators.

Method of correcting a resonance frequency of a small rotary actuator

A piezoelectric actuator has a vibrating member having a generally central portion and a vibratable cantilever extending from the central portion. The cantilever has a first major surface, a second major surface opposite the first major surface, a first end integrally connected to the central portion, and a second free end. A piezoelectric element is connected to the second major surface of the cantilever and is driven by a voltage signal applied thereto to undergo expansion and contraction to vibrationally drive the cantilever. A moving member is in contact with the first major surface of the cantilever to be frictionally driven by vibration of the cantilevers in response to expansion and contraction of the piezoelectric element.
