In order to obtain a low-cost stereo camera which can decrease the load of software-based calibration, a stereo camera is provided with a first vehicle-mounted camera which comprises a first lens unit and a first imaging element, and a second vehicle-mounted camera which comprises a second lens unit and a second imaging element. This stereo camera is characterized in that the first imaging element has a first sensitivity value recording unit in which sensitivity values of the first imaging element are recorded, and the second imaging element has a second sensitivity value recording unit in which sensitivity values of the second imaging element are recorded, wherein the sensitivity variation width between the sensitivity values of the first imaging element recorded in the first sensitivity value recording unit and the sensitivity values of the second imaging element recorded in the second sensitivity value recording unit is within a preset reference width.

Stereo camera

A distance measuring apparatus comprising a transmission antenna to radiate a transmission radio wave; a reception antenna to receive a reflected signal from a target; an analog-to-digital converter to perform an analog-to-digital conversion for converting a reception signal; and a signal processing unit to process the converted signal and to detect the target, in which a transmission frequency of the transmission radio wave to be radiated is switched at a timing synchronized with a sampling frequency of the analog-to-digital conversion, the transmission frequency is switched in accordance with an arbitrary pattern within a frequency band, and the reception signal is rearranged in order on the basis of the arbitrary pattern at a time of the transmission to then be subject to a radar signal processing.

Radar apparatus

In the mass production of dielectric resonator oscillators (DROs), it is necessary to regulate the position where a dielectric resonator is placed with a high degree of accuracy and thus time required for the assembly work increases undesirably. Further, a terminating resistor and earthing means are formed at an end of a transmission line that is electromagnetically coupled to the dielectric resonator and constitutes the resonator on a dielectric substrate, and as a result the production cost increases. The present invention is characterized in that, in the components of a DOR, only a transmission line is formed on a dielectric substrate, and an oscillating active element and a terminating resistor and the earthing means on an MMIC chip are connected to the transmission line with metallic wires, metallic ribbons, or the like. Further, an open stub is formed in the middle of the transmission line on the side close to the oscillating active element when it is viewed from the dielectric resonator.

Dielectric resonator oscillator and radar system using the same

In a millimeter waveband transceiver using an antenna and a waveguide for a connection line, it is necessary to perform transmission mode line conversion between TEM waves of a microstrip line and VTE01 mode waves of the waveguide. There is a limit to reducing the conversion loss using only a matching box for connecting the microstrip line with the waveguide. In a transmission mode line transducer for converting between the TEM waves of the microstrip line and the VTE01 mode waves of the waveguide, if the cross-sections are substantially the same size, in the case of a 50&#x3a9; microstrip line when the characteristic impedance of the waveguide is about 80%, i.e., 40&#x3a9;, the line conversion loss can be optimized. Therefore, the microstrip line is connected with the waveguide using a &#x3bb;/4 matching box via a ridged waveguide having a low impedance and a length of &#x3bb;/16 or less.

A high frequency antenna device is provided which includes: a high frequency antenna wiring board having a film antenna formed on one surface of a dielectric substrate made up of multiple, laminated ceramic layers and a high frequency circuit formed on the other surface of the dielectric substrate to generate a high frequency signal; a plate-like metal base having a square opening cut therethrough; and a cover to package a surface of the high frequency circuit on the high frequency antenna wiring board after the high frequency antenna wiring board has been fitted in the opening of the metal base; wherein a periphery of the high frequency antenna wiring board is airtightly sealed and joined to the metal base with glass or brazing metal.

The present invention provides an intelligent cruise control device installed in a host vehicle and used for performing follow-up cruise control to follow up a moving target located in front of the host vehicle by supplying an operating signal to an auto cruise control device which is used for carrying out auto cruise control to adjust the speed of the host vehicle by carrying out an operation indicated by the operating signal generated by the operating part in accordance with an operation type such as acceleration and deceleration specified by the driver so that the host vehicle is running at the adjusted speed. The intelligent cruise control device further comprises: a storage means for storing information on the operating signal for each operation type such as acceleration and deceleration; an operation determining means for determining the type of an operation required by the host vehicle to follow up a moving target located in front of the host vehicle from information on the speed of the host vehicle and information on the range between the host vehicle and the moving target; and a signal generating means for reading out information on an operating signal for the type of an operation determined by the operation determining means from the storage means and for generating the operating signal in accordance with the information on the operating signal read out from the storage means.

Intelligent cruise control device

A high-frequency transmitter-receiver apparatus includes a transceiver circuit realized in a planar structure by a dielectric substrate and a semiconductor chip and a planar antenna formed on a dielectric substrate are provided on front and rear surfaces, respectively, of a single electrically conductive base plate. Signal lines of the planar circuit and the planar antenna are electrically interconnected by a coaxial line which extends through said base plate.

High-frequency transmitter-receiver apparatus for such an application as vehicle-onboard radar system

An intelligent cruise control system is capable of maintaining a car-to-car distance allowing a collision to be avoided and carrying out follow-up running control without providing a sense of incompatibility to the driver. A radar circuit employed in a radar unit calculates a relative speed Vr of a car running ahead of a vehicle with an intelligent cruise control system installed therein with respect to the vehicle and a distance dr from the vehicle to the preceding car from a wave reflected by the preceding car. An ICC unit adjusts the speed of the vehicle by controlling the output of the engine of the vehicle in accordance with information such as the relative speed Vr and the distance dr received from the radar unit. In a follow-up running mode, the ICC unit controls the cruise of the vehicle in such a way that the speed of the vehicle and the distance from the vehicle to the preceding car are maintained at a target speed and a target car-to-car distance respectively. When the ICC unit forms a judgment that deceleration of the vehicle is not enough if only deceleration based on the engine brake is relied on, giving rise to fear of a rear-end collision of the vehicle with the preceding car, the ICC unit calculates a target deceleration and operates an automatic brake unit, letting the automatic brake unit generate a braking force appropriate for the target acceleration.
