A base A of an output shaft is made up of a rod member B, and a holder having a bottom A. A stop is formed separately from the holder. The holder has a reduced diameter portion B, in which an outer coiled spring A and an inner coiled spring B are disposed, and a piston is disposed rearward thereof, and an increased diameter portion D in which the stop is disposed, and a reaction disc is disposed rearward thereof.

A fingerprint image judgment apparatus is capable of judging whether or not fingerprint image data has been correctly read when a CPU having a small utilizable memory space is used. A first count unit counts the number of ridges or valleys in one direction of an X-axis direction or a Y-axis direction based on the pixel values stored in the first memory . A second count unit counts the number of ridges or valleys in the other direction of the X-axis direction or the Y-axis direction based on a judgment result h_flg &lsqb;i&rsqb; stored in a second memory and the pixel values stored in the first memory . The judgment result h_flg &lsqb;i&rsqb; indicates whether or not the pixel values form ridges or valleys in the one direction. A correctibility judgment unit judges whether or not the fingerprint image data has been correctly read by the fingerprint sensor based on the number of ridges or the valleys counted by the first and second count units.

An improvement of a reaction disc and a valve plunger disposed in a booster is provided. A recess is formed in a rear end face of the reaction disc while a projection from the valve plunger is loosely fitted into the recess . When the break booster is operated, the peripheral surface and the bottom of the recess abut against the projection , and the rear end face abuts against the end face of a plunger , whereby a brake reaction is transmitted to an input shaft . When an input or a force of depressing a brake pedal is reduced during the operation, a resistance is applied to a rearward retracting movement of the valve plunger by the peripheral surface of the recess . The invention allows the hysteresis to be increased without increasing the hardness of the reaction disc

In accordance with the invention, a booster is not provided with a mechanism which transmits a braking reaction, and accordingly, a reaction cannot be transmitted to a brake pedal. On the other hand, a pseudo-reaction imparting means is provided to impart a pseudo-reaction which depends on an amount of depression of the brake pedal. The pseudo-reaction imparting means imparts a pseudo-reaction having a reduced rate of increase to the brake pedal when a travel of the brake pedal is small, and imparts a pseudo-reaction having an increased rate of increase to the brake pedal when a travel of the break pedal is higher. This arrangement avoids the drawback of the prior art that an abnormally high braking reaction is transmitted to a driver as a result of an operational lag of a conventional booster during a quick braking operation. The invention prevents such braking reaction from being transmitted to a driver, but enables a reaction of a required magnitude to be transmitted to the driver by means of pseudo-reaction imparting means. In this manner, a required high braking effort can be obtained with a reduced force of depression during a quick braking operation. The pseudo-reaction imparting means which exhibit such characteristic is capable of realizing an operation feeling, as experienced in a normal operation in the prior art, independently from a quick and a slow braking operation.

Reaction mechanism for booster

An improvement of a reaction transmitting mechanism for a booster is disclosed. A forward end face of a tubular portion of a valve body which abuts against a reaction disc is provided with an uneven surface. This presents a resistance to an elastic deformation of the reaction disc when a brake booster is actuated. Accordingly, an enhanced hysteresis, which represents a difference in the output between when depressing and releasing a brake pedal, is provided without increasing the hardness of the reaction disc.

A compact disk player has a polycarbonate turntable, and a clamper (201) for clamping a compact disk on the turn table. The turn table is made of the same material (polycarbonate) as the compact disk and includes a disk body, a central hub projected from the disk body to receive a center hole of a compact disk and a peripheral annular portion formed integrally with the disk body.

A vehicle disk player is disclosed in which a disk is inserted through a disk inserting opening, the disk is fixedly mounted on a turn table by a clamper arm when conveyed to a predetermined position in the player, the turn table is rotated for reproduction of data recorded in the disk, and reproducing means including the clamper arm and turn table are supported in a floating manner. The player is provided with a centering mechanism for positioning said disk at the middle of the disk inserting opening with centering pins. The centering pins are arranged out of the range of vibration of the disk which is fixedly mounted on said turn table supported in a floating manner.

A disk playback apparatus with a centering mechanism for positioning a small or a large disk which comprises a support frame, a clamper arm swingably mounted on a rear portion of the support frame, and a centering mechanism for guiding large and a small diameter disks from a front side of the playback apparatus to a position between the support frame and the clamper arm when the disk is inserted into the playback apparatus. The centering mechanism has a pair of centering arms for contacting with a circumferential edge of the disk for positioning the disk in place, a centering lever provided in the clamper arm and connected to the pair of centering arms for simultaneously opening/closing the pair of centering arms, and lock arms each rotatably mounted on the associated centering arm for locking the centering arm independently, the lock arms allowing the pair of centering arms to be swingable when both the lock arms are released. This playback apparatus can center both the small and large size disks at a clamp position.

A disc player is disclosed which includes a casing having a disc inserting opening, a turntable driven by a spindle motor, a clamper arm operating means for operating a clamper arm in cooperation with said turntable, a centering mechanism for guiding a disc from the disc inserting opening onto the turntable, the centering mechanism including a pair of centering arms (13, 14) each having at distal end portions contact portions which are to be brought into contact with a circumferential edge of the disc, the centering arms being pivotally movable at a predetermined distance in the disc inserting opening, a detecting lever (42) for detecting a condition that the disc is laid on the turntable, and a disc double insertion preventing lock linkage (43, 57) for preventing another disc from being inserted into the casing through the disc inserting opening when the first-mentioned disc is already located on the turntable, the double insertion preventing lock linkage being in cooperation with the centering mechanism.

A vehicle disk player is disclosed in which a disk is inserted through a disk inserting opening, the disk is fixedly mounted on a turntable by a clamper arm when conveyed to a predetermined position in the player, the turntable is rotated for reproduction of data recorded in the disk, and reproducing means including the clamper arm and turntable are supported in a floating manner. The player is provided with a centering mechanism for positioning said disk at the middle of the disk inserting opening with centering pins. A device for preventing the erroneous insertion of a disc in a vehicle CD player. A movable cover is swingably mounted on a frame through a movable cover opening and closing arm. An operating member is coupled to the movable cover opening and closing arm, the operating member being operated in association with a disc clamping operation of a clamper arm. After the clamper arm clamps the disc, the movable cover opening and closing arm is swung so that the movable cover is swung to a disc-inserting-opening closing position.
