Controlling broadcast and multicast service communication including transmitting request signaling information for requesting broadcast and multicast service from a mobile station to a base station using preamble codes of specified random access channel (RACH) signals, and discriminating the preamble codes of the specified RACH signals from among preamble codes of RACH signals which have been received. Further including transmitting reception completion responses to the mobile station which transmitted the preamble codes from the base station after discriminating the preamble codes, including transmitting a request for starting broadcast and multicast service to a multimedia-broadcast-and-multicast-service transmission apparatus when the base station first receives at least one of the preamble codes of the specified RACH signals for the broadcast and multicast service, and broadcasting and multicasting, in the base station, of multimedia data supplied by the multimedia-broadcast-and-multicast-service transmission apparatus to the mobile station.

A scheduling process handles a plurality of communication services in a collective manner, thus making a radio communications system more operable. A pilot signal sender sends pilot signals with carrier frequencies each corresponding to an N (N&#x2267;1) different communication services. A scheduler collects N&#xd7;n instances of propagation environment data from n (n&#x2267;1) terminal devices and selects terminal devices and communication services therefor by assigning terminal devices having a better propagation environment to the plurality of different communication services in a collective manner. The pilot signals are used by a propagation environment data sender to measure and report a propagation environment of each carrier frequency. A communication function configurer automatically sets up a communication function to adapt to the communication service that the base station has assigned.

In this handover control method, a mobile control device selects one or more handover base station candidates based on the communication state, and based on the communication capabilities of the handover base station candidates, decides a transmission rate for multicasting communication data, and transmits communication data to each of the handover base station candidates at the decided transmission rate, and a handover base station candidate that is decided as a handover base station sends the saved multicast communication data to the mobile terminal.

The present invention discloses a wireless mobile communication system for transferring MBMS data from an access gateway to plural wireless base stations and transmitting the MBMS data from the plural wireless base stations to a wireless mobile station at the same time. In transmission in which MIMO is applied, there have been problems that the number of variable parameters increases and the number of information bits necessary for control channel increases. When the number of simultaneous multiplex users in one frame increases, there is also a problem of increased control channel information in proportion to the number of users. Error correction coding is performed for the control channel information based on the Adaptive Modulation and Coding scheme, and the above error correction coded control channel information is transmitted after being modulated with a predetermined modulation scheme, and further, according to propagation condition, the coding rate in the above error correction coding is made variable.

A transmission controlling method for a wireless communication system wherein a plurality of data blocks can be transmitted from a sender apparatus having a plurality of sending antennas to a receiver apparatus, the transmission controlling method includes on the sender apparatus, sending process information which is not competitive between data blocks to the receiver apparatus with a control channel; and sending the data block to the receiver apparatus; and on the receiver apparatus, receiving the data block and the process information from the sender apparatus.

In a wireless communication system, a sender apparatus sends a data block, for each of a plurality of stream data, with data block identification information, which does not conflict between stream data, annexed, and a reception apparatus performs a re-sending synthesis process for a data block received already and a re-sending data block to which the same data block identification information is individually annexed based on the data block identification information annexed to the received data block. Consequently, also in a case wherein the number of transmission streams between the sender apparatus and the reception apparatus is varied (reduced), the matching property of the data block which is a re-sending synthesis target can be maintained and communication can be continued normally.
