An optical collimator having a collimator lens which is divided into front and rear collimator lenses. An inclined transparent parallel plate is located between the two collimator lenses, whereby the optical collimator is substantially free from comatic aberration and results in a collimator which can be reduced in size.

Optical collimator

In case that the light beam emitted from a light source mounted on a base element is focused to a spot light on a data storage media to write the data, when the light beam reflected from the data storage media to return to the light source is reflected from the base element and focused again on the data storage media, it becomes difficult to precisely read/write the data on the storage media. In order to resolve the above problem, a light beam treating means is provided in the base element to prevent the re-incident light beams from being reflected toward the data storage media and focused thereon.

Optical head apparatus

A device for the adjustment of photo detectors mounted on an optical head base for adjusting the position of a photo detector in a direction of an optic axis of a light beam and in a plane perpendicular to said optic axis, comprises a movable plate able to move relative to the optical head base in a plane perpendicular to the optic axis of a light beam, a base plate able on which the photo detector is fixed, the base plate having a first end fixed to the movable plate, being able to bend to the direction of the optic axis and being fixed to the movable plate, and an adjusting screw extending through the base plate and threaded into the movable plate for bending the base plate toward the movable plate.
