A recording apparatus including a beam generator for generating a beam modulated by a modulating signal supplied thereto; a deflector for deflecting the beam generated by the beam generator repeatedly in two directions; a recording member for receiving the beam deflected by the deflector and recording the trajectory of irradiation by the beam; a recording information storage for storing information to be recorded on the recording member; the recording information read from the information storage being supplied to the beam generator as the modulating signal; a beam detector provided in the deflecting area of the beam deflected by the deflector and adapted to release a beam detection signal upon detection of arrival of the deflected beam at the detector; and a signal forming device adapted for selecting either one of two consecutive beam detection signals released from the beam detector thereby forming a reference signal for instructing the initiation of the readout from the recording information storage.

Recording apparatus

Semiconductor laser apparatus wherein a semiconductor laser device and a temperature sensor for sensing the temperature of the laser device are mounted on a heat sink or base and airtightly encapsulated. In one embodiment the heat sink or base is mounted on temperature control apparatus which in turn is electrically controlled in response to the output from the temperature sensor. In another embodiment, a laser beam intensity sensor whose output varies over a wide range depending upon an environmental temperature is also temperature controlled so that the semiconductor laser apparatus may be controlled with a higher degree of accuracy.

This specification discloses a recording apparatus using coherent light which comprises coherent light generating means for generating coherent light, light modulating means into which the coherent light from the coherent light generating means enters, whereby when in ON state, the light modulating means emits the entering coherent light outwardly as zero-order light having a certain angle of emergence and when in OFF state, the light modulating means derives the entering coherent light as a primary light having another angle of emergence, the primary light being intercepted by an intercepting member so as not to be emitted outwardly, means for applying modulating signal to the light modulating means for controlling ON-OFF of the light modulating means, deflector means for deflecting the zero-order light emitted from the light modulating means, and a recording medium upon which the deflected zero-order light is thrown and which is sensitized by the zero-order light from the light modulating means when in ON state and which is not sensitized by the zero-order light leaking from the light modulating means when in OFF state.

Recording apparatus using coherent light

An information formation apparatus for forming information on a beam-irradiated member by the use of a beam comprises beam generator-modulator for forming a beam modulated by information signals applied thereto, a deflector for deflecting the beam in accordance with a scan pass, an information formation member on which the beam deflected by the deflector is projected, the member having an information formation region on which information is formed by the beam, beam detector for detecting the intensity of the beam scanning the other portion of the information formation member than the information formation region and producing a detection signal corresponding to the beam intensity detected, and beam controller for controlling the intensity of the beam as it scans the information formation region of the information formation member.
