An apparatus for analyzing blood samples by detecting particle agglutination patterns formed on inclined bottom surfaces of reaction vessels formed in a microplate includes a diluted sample preparing section for delivering given amounts of blood cells and serum contained in a sample tube into diluting vessels mounted on a sample plate secured on a rotating endless belt and for discharging predetermined amount of a diluent into the diluting vessels to form diluted blood cell and serum samples, a diluted sample delivering section for delivering given amounts of the diluted blood cell and serum samples contained in the diluting vessels into an array of reaction vessels of the microplate in a selective manner according to test-items to be analyzed and a reagent delivering section for discharging given reagents into the reaction vessels. The microplate having the diluted blood cell and serum samples delivered therein is fed in a substantially stationary manner along a reaction line arranged in a vertical plane and in this reaction line the particle patterns formed on the reaction vessel bottoms are photoelectrically detected.

Analyzing apparatus and method for immunological agglutination reactions

In a distributing method for sucking a desired amount of a sample liquid in a sample vessel and discharging the thus sucked sample liquid into a reaction vessel, a probe for sucking and discharging the liquid is connected to a syringe driven by a pulse motor. A photoelectric detector is provided for detecting whether the sample liquid is existed or not up to a predetermined level in the sample vessel and an actual amount of the sample liquid aspirated by the syringe is detected by a counter which counts clock pulses during the aspirating operation. When the liquid level descends lower than the predetermined level, the counting operation is stopped. The actual amount of the aspirated liquid in the probe is compared with a desired amount stored in a memory. When the actual amount of the sucked liquid is smaller than the desired value, an alarm is produced.

Liquid distributing device for use in chemical analyzer

A photometering apparatus for use in a chemical analyzer of multi-channel type includes a liquid type thermostat made of transparent material and a block made of transparent material and movably mounted on a bottom wall of the thermostat, a number of reaction vessels being constituted by depressions formed in said block in a matrix form. An absorption of a test liquid contained in respective reaction vessels on each channel is measured by projecting a light beam emitted from a light source incident perpendicularly upon the test liquid and by receiving the light beam transmitted through the test liquid, a bottom portion of the reaction vessel and the bottom wall of thermostat.

Photometering apparatus for use in chemical analyzer

An apparatus for applying a given amount of blood serum sample to a sample bearing film which has been wetted with Veronal-Veronal soda buffer solution comprises an applicator with an application chip holding a given amount of the blood serum sample, a hygrometer for detecting a humidity of an atmosphere surrounding the wetted sample bearing film, a timer circuit for presetting an application time in accordance with the detected humidity and producing a timing signal when said present application time has elapsed, and a control circuit for receiving the timing signal to drive the applicator to apply the blood serum sample to the film which is in the most favorable wet condition.

Apparatus for applying sample liquid onto sample bearing film

In applying a specimen to a carrier pre-wetted with an electrolytic solution, the disclosed applicator electrically measures the wetness of the carrier and controls the application of the specimen to the carrier based on the thus detected wetness so as to ensure uniform application of the specimen to the carrier.

A photometric device comprises a photometric optical system for obtaining light outputs each having a predetermined wavelength by transmitting light from a light source to a sample to be measured through different light paths each having a filter, a detector for converting each light output into an electric signal, a switch for deriving first electric signals for one predetermined wavelength and second electric signals for another predetermined wavelength from the output signals of the detector, and a signal treating circuit for treating the first and the second electric signals to obtain a light absorption amount of the sample.

The rate of enzyme reaction is determined by determining of the quantity of enzyme, and deriving the rate of reaction per unit time of a reaction solution having an absorbance which is proportional to the time. A temperature correction coefficient which is used during the determination of the enzyme quantity is derived by temperature information which is supplied by a temperature sensor disposed within the reaction solution to be determined. An apparatus used for the determination of the rate of reaction comprises a means for containing the reaction solution, a temperature sensor directly disposed within the solution, a photoelectric transducer element responsive to light transmitting through the solution to determine the optical density of the solution, a logarithmic conversion circuit which converts the signal from the element into a corresponding absorbance signal, and a coefficient conversion circuit which is responsive to the combination of the absorbance signal and temperature information from the temperature sensor to correct a temperature coefficient.

Method and apparatus for determining the rate of enzyme reaction

A system for detecting the particular chemical constituent of a fluid which comprises a photoelectric conversion device for giving forth an electric signal having an amplitude exactly corresponding to the changed color of an absorptive carrier containing a reagent which results from a chemical reaction between a test fluid and the reagent contained in said carrier; a calibration device for eliminating unnecessary components from said electric signal; a device for comparing an output signal from the calibration device with referential data having preset values to determine the sequential position which the measured degree of chemical reaction between the reagent and the test fluid occupies among the various values of said referential data; a printing device for printing out an output from said comparing device representing the content of the desired chemical constitutent of the test fluid.
