A method for producing a conductive liquid silicone rubber composition having an excellent storage stability and suitable for molding a conductive silicone rubber article with an arbitrary speed of curing and with good reproducibility of arbitrarily selected hardness and volume resistivity. The method comprises mixing component (A) which is a mixture of a conductive filler with a liquid diorganopolysiloxane having two or more silicon-bonded alkenyl groups in one molecule, component (B) which is a mixture of a conductive filler with a liquid diorganopolysiloxane having two or more silicon-bonded alkenyl groups in one molecule and a volume resistivity different from that of (A), component (C) a platinum-based catalyst; and component (D) which is a cross-linker that comprises an organopolysiloxane having two or more silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms in one molecule.

Preparation of a conductive liquid silicone rubber composition

The present invention provides a paper feed roll adapted for office machines which exhibits a high friction coefficient suitable for the conveyance of copying paper, printing paper, original, etc. and less abrasion. A process for the preparation of such a paper feed roll is also provided. Further, a silicone rubber composition suitable for the foregoing paper feed roll having an excellent formability to roll is provided. In particular, a novel silicone rubber-coated paper feed roll is provided, which is prepared from a silica-containing silicone rubber composition. The silicone rubber obtained by curing the silica-containing silicone rubber composition and composes the paper feed roll has an impact resilience of not less than 80% after curing as determined by JIS K6301, a permanent compression set of not more than 4% under a condition of 25% compression at 70.degree. C. for 22 hours and a 100% modulus of from 0.3 to 1.0 MPa. A novel silica-containing silicone rubber composition for use in a paper feed roll is also provided, which contains a diorganosiloxane represented by the following general formula as a silica treatment: ##STR1##

The disadvantages associated with using a platinum-catalyzed hydrosilylation reaction to prepare sponge products from curable organosiloxane compositions can be overcome by microencapsulating the platinum-containing catalyst in a thermoplastic organic or organosilicone polymer.

Sponge-forming organosiloxane composition

This invention provides organosiloxane compositions that are stable under ambient conditions and convert to cured sponge rubber when heated. The compositions comprise an alkenyl-substituted polyorganosiloxane, a polyorganohydrogensiloxane, a platinum-type catalyst, a platinum catalyst inhibitor and an alkaline earth metal compound exhibiting a pH of at least 10.0.
