A photometering device in a single lens reflex camera having a photometering device mounting portion on a magnifier of a finder optical system, and a photometering element which is mounted to the photometering device mounting portion, including a substrate to which the photometering element is secured, a pair of horizontally elongated holes for the vertical adjustment and at least one adjusting hole for the horizontal adjustment, formed in the substrate, adjusting pins which are rotatably supported on the photometering device mounting portion and which have eccentric disc portions which can be fitted in the associated elongated holes of the substrate, and a reference hole corresponding to said adjusting hole and formed in the photometering device mounting portion.

A camera has a zoom lens. The zoom lens has a variable focal length over a predetermined focal length range, the ends or limits of which correspond to the longest and the shortest focal lengths of the zoom lens, respectively. The camera includes a detector which detects when the focal length of the zoom lens is at one end of the focal length range, and a display which provides an indication for the user of the camera that the focal length of the zoom lens is at that one end. With a plurality of different zoom modes, the camera has a zoom mode selector which selects one of the zoom modes that is to be used, and the selected zoom mode is displayed. The camera further includes another detector which detects the direction of zooming operation of the zoom lens, and the detected direction is also displayed. Useful information relating to various zoom lens operations is provided by the display for the user of the camera.

A single-lens reflex camera of a type having an interchangeable viewfinder and an interchangeable lens in which electrical signals are transmitted between the viewfinder and lens directly without going through the body of the camera. A first group of contacts is arranged on a protrusion of the interchangeable viewfinder. Preferably, this first group of contacts is spring loaded. A second group of contacts is provided on the barrel of the interchangeable lens. The first and second groups of contacts are arranged so that, when both the viewfinder and the lens are mounted on the body of the camera, respective ones of the contacts of the two groups are in contact with one another.

The eye level eye piece housing comprises an eye level eye piece and an eye piece side mount. A waist level eye piece housing comprises a waist level eye piece, a waist level prism or two mirrors having two reflection surfaces perpendicular to a plane including an exit optical axis extended from the camera side mount and the optical axis of the waist level eye piece to change the direction of the exit optical axis so that the exit optical axis is extended into the waist level eye piece.
