An antenna device () is provided that is used in a recorder and/or writer destined for writing and reading data to and from a contactless IC card (). The antenna device () includes a loop coil () that radiates a magnetic field, magnetically couples with a loop coil () provided in the IC card (), and sends and receives data to and from the IC card (). The loop coil () is formed asymmetric for the winding sections thereof opposite to each other across the center of the loop coil () to be different in interval from each other.

An antenna apparatus () is provided which is used in a recorder and/or player to write and read data to and from a contactless IC card (). The antenna apparatus () includes a loop coil () to radiate an electromagnetic field for magnetic coupling with a loop coil () at the IC card () to send and receive data to and from the IC card (), and a magnetic sheet () disposed to face the main side of the loop coil (), opposite to the main side facing the IC card (). A communication-capable electronic device is provided which includes a metallic housing () to accommodate electronic parts of the device, and a communication terminal () that makes communications with a communication-cable IC card () incorporating an antenna (). The communication antenna () is located such that when the IC card is placed near the housing (), the antenna () built in the IC card () faces, at a part thereof, a part of the communication terminal () while the rest of the antenna () of the IC Card () does not face the housing ().
