A communication cable is provided that satisfies the requirement of Cat.6 for near-end cross talk wherein the difference between the maximum and minimum values of delay time among the four twisted wire pairs constituting the cable is within 25 ns/100 m. The communication cable is made by entwining four twisted wire pairs (T,), (T,), (T,), (T,) made by twisting pairs of insulated wires made by covering electrically conductive wires by polyolefin thermoplastic resin with each pair being twisted with a twist pitch different from the others (pitch: P,<P,<P,<P,) and the inter-pair interposer (,) made of polyolefin thermoplastic resin, while being entwined with each wire pair, around a central interposer (,) made of polyolefin thermoplastic resin having cross sectional area of S,. Cross sectional area S,of the central interposer (,) satisfies the relationship of inequality S,&gE;&lsqb;&lcub;4.1 d/(1&plus;{square root over (2)})&rcub;&middot;0.35&rsqb;,&times;&pgr;, while the inter-pair interposer (,) that is entwined with the twisted wire pairs is located at such a position as adjoins the twisted wire pair (T,) having the least pitch P,and does not adjoin the twisted wire pair (T,) having the largest pitch P

Communication cable

A communication cable formed by cabling units such that each two adjacent units have different twist pitches, each unit including insulated wire pairs twisted together. A twist pitch P.sub.i of insulated wire pair T.sub.i selected among insulated wire pairs constituting a unit U.sub.i, and a twist pitch P.sub.j of insulated wire pair T.sub.j selected among insulated wire pairs constituting a unit U.sub.j, are different. Twist pitches P.sub.i and P.sub.j are selected from a region which satisfies expression (1) and either (2) or (3). Twist pitch P.sub.i and twist pitch P.sub.k of insulated wire pair T.sub.k selected among insulated wire pairs constituting a unit U.sub.k, are selected from a region which satisfies expression (4) where twist pitches P.sub.i and P.sub.k are in compliance with prior conditions given by (4). In the following expressions, x represents a unit diametrical component, y represents a unit lengthwise component and d is the outside diameter of insulated wires which constitute the insulated wire pairs.

A method of manufacturing thermoplastic resin molded optical members comprising a thermoplastic resin material into a mold, defoaming thermoplastic resin material in vacuo at a specific temperature for causing the loaded thermoplastic resin material to melt and to flow, and producing a molded optical member by gradually cooling off the mold in the upward direction from the bottom side while pressurizing the interior of the mold with an inert gas. The inner surface of the mold is preferably preliminarily coated with a release material such as fluoroplastic containing either fluorinated alicyclic group or a fluorinated heterocyclic group in the main chain.

Method of manufacturing thermoplastic/resin molded optical member

A control system for a four wheel steering system detects the occurrence of wheel slippage for sampling wheel speed data immediately before the occurrence of wheel slippage. The control system projects a vehicle speed on the basis of the sampled wheel speed data and a predetermined variation rate of the vehicle speed, and derives toe angle variation magnitude of a subsidiary steerable wheel on the basis of the projected vehicle speed and a steering angle of a primary steerable wheel.

Automotive control system providing anti-skid steering

A vibration damping insulator for supporting a structural member on a vehicle chassis. The insulator comprises a first tubular member connected to said structural member, a second tubular member disposed coaxially within the first tubular member and connected to the vehicle chassis, a first elastomeric body interconnecting the first and second tubular members and arranged to undergo shear when the tubular members are displace in one direction and compression when the tubular members are displaced in a second direction relative to each other, a stiffening plate disposed in the first elastomeric body between the first and second tubular members, a vibratable mass, and a second elastomeric body separate from the first elastomeric body and interconnecting the vibratable mass and one of the tubular members. The second elastomeric body and the vibratable mass define a dynamic damper having a resonance characteristic which suppresses transmission of vibration from the structural member to the chassis.

Insulator for use in automotive suspension or the like

The present invention features an insulator unit for supporting a suspension arrangement on a chassis or the like. The main elastomeric body of the insulator is arranged to have sufficient rigidity as to limit the displacement of the suspension with respect to the chassis. The device further includes a vibratory mass or masses which upon being excited cancel vibrations which would otherwise be transmitted through the main elastomeric member.

A composite magnetic and optical head comprises a magnetic sensor including a magnetic core which is adapted to detect a magnetic pattern recorded on a record medium; an optical sensor including a nonmagnetic light transmitting member located along a distal gap of the magnetic sensor and an optical fiber bundle having one end connected to the light transmitting member, and adapted to detect an optical pattern recorded on the record medium; and a holder containing the magnetic and optical sensors in the internal space thereof, the holder having two opposite side walls extending at right angles to the distal gap of the magnetic core and one end face from which the distal gap projects outward. The magnetic core of the head includes a wide portion, situated close to the distal gap and projecting outward from the one end face of the holder, and a narrow portion surrounded by the holder so as to be located inside the one end face, the wide portion being at least wider than the distance between the opposite side walls. If a plurality of such composite heads are arranged side by side to form a multihead, the respective distal gaps of the adjacent cores can be arranged intimately in contact with one another without being hindered by the holders of the heads. Thus, the medium identifying accuracy of the head is improved.

An optical switch having a pair of optical fibers which has a stopper projected on the inner surface of a housing, the paired large diameter optical fibers being formed at the ends thereof, inserted into the housing and contacted with the ends thereof opposed on the same axis with both ends of the stopper at a predetermined interval between relative end faces thereof, and a light shielding plate disposed telescopically in or out between the end faces of the optical fibers in the housing for conducting or interrupting an optical path over both the optical fibers, and an optical keyboard utilizing the optical switch.
