A method and system for providing access to a vehicle and enabling data off-boarding that include associating a primary portable device to the vehicle and granting privileges to the primary portable device. The method and system also include associating at least one secondary portable device to the vehicle by granting privileges to the at least one secondary portable device through the primary portable device. The method and system additionally include providing terms and conditions related to data off-boarding to the primary portable device and providing terms and conditions related to data off-boarding to the at least one secondary portable device when the at least one secondary portable device is linked to the vehicle through the primary portable device. The method and system further include controlling off-boarding of vehicle data of a driver when the terms and conditions are accepted.

A device for managing communications on a mobile communication device based upon behavior of a user has a controller, The controller reviews data stored within applications of the mobile communication device, identifies one or more key terms within applications stored on the mobile communication device, determines if the one or more key terms belongs to at least one of the plurality of pre-defined mood categories, generates one or more reminder task items associated with the data and the one or more key terms identified, identifies a genre of music being played on an audio source, and determines whether the genre of music belongs to at least one of a plurality of pre-defined mood categories. The controller generates a notification message associated with one of the reminder task items when the genre of music being played and the associated one or more reminder task items belong to the same pre-defined mood category.

System and method for managing communications on a mobile communication device based upon a user's behavior

Provided is an information retrieval system for car navigation systems that allows a vehicle occupant to designate a destination both easily and quickly. Each address is given as a combination of a plurality of strings of characters, each string corresponding to one of a plurality of search hierarchy levels, and the character strings are stored in a storage unit. If a current hierarchy level does not include any candidate of data that corresponds to a character entered by a user on an interface unit, a character type data search unit retrieves candidates from a next lower hierarchy level. Thereby, even if the use does not know a part of an address, the vehicle operator is able to successfully reconstruct the full address and enter a destination in an unambiguous manner. Such a candidate or candidates may be displayed on the monitor in combination with the corresponding data of the next higher hierarchy level. Alternatively, after the candidate or one of the candidates is selected by the user, corresponding candidates of data in the next higher hierarchy level may be displayed on the monitor.
