According to one embodiment, an insulation diagnostic system comprising: a peak-value acquisition circuit configured to acquire at least one peak value of a section corresponding to local discharge of a voltage signal acquired by at least one sensor that detects the voltage signal in a non-contact manner; a function acquisition circuit configured to acquire a calculation function for calculating charge amount related to the discharge based on at least two peak values acquired from the voltage signal that is detected by the sensor by applying a test voltage to a rotating electrical machine while the rotating electrical machine is stopped; and a charge-amount calculation circuit configured to calculate the charge amount related to partial discharge of the rotating electrical machine based on the calculation function and the peak value obtained from the voltage signal that is detected by the sensor during operation of the rotating electrical machine.

A vortex generating apparatus includes: a member to contact with a flow of a fluid to form a stagnation point and a first and a second separation points on a periphery of a cross section of the member parallel to the flow; a disturbance applying unit to apply a disturbance to an upstream side of the first separation point to cause part of a boundary layer of the flow to adhere; and a controller to temporally control the application of the disturbance to change an adhesion distance from the stagnation point to the first separation point so as to generate a dynamic stall vortex.

Vortex generating apparatus and vortex generating method

In a typical method of separating isotopes, a linear material is fed between electrodes arranged in a vacuum vessel. Joule heat is generated by supplying a current to the linear material. A vapor flow is produced by heating and evaporating the linear material. Only a specific isotope in the vapor flow is selectively ionized by radiating a laser beam on the vapor flow. The ionized isotope is separated by using at least one of electric and magnetic fields. A typical isotope separating apparatus includes a vacuum vessel, a material feeder, a power source system, a laser optical system, and an ion separating unit. The material feeder feeds a linear material containing a plurality of types of isotopes between electrodes in the vacuum vessel. The power source system supplies a current to the linear material to heat and evaporate it.
